Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz has signed a new five-year contract with the West London Club.

The future of the 24-year-old Brazilian was the subject of speculation in the summer in the midst of reports that suggested that he was about to move from £ 34 million to the Italian side Atalanta.

But the attacker, who came to Fulham four years ago from the Brazilian side Flamengo for an unknown fee, is now ready to stay in Craven Cottage until June 2030.

What did Rodrigo Muniz say about signing a new Fulham contract?

The contract includes an option for Fulham to extend the deal for another year.

“I am very grateful and I want to thank the club for confidence in me,” said Muniz. “I also want to thank my family, my friends in Brazil and all fans.

“I want to thank everyone. It’s a great feeling to stay here and to have this contract and to protect my future.”

How Rodrigo Muniz became a cult hero at Fulham

The striker has become something of a cult figure in Fulham after he has come from the bank to score late winners in Newcastle and Chelsea in the past term.

Muniz also produced a final gasp winner in Brighton during the opening weekend of the Premier League season to further burn his “Super-sub” reputation.

In total, Muniz scored 18 goals in 62 Premier League performances for Fulham

“I am very happy that we have extended Rodrigo Muniz’s contract to at least 2030,” said Tony Khan, vice-chairman of Fulham and director of football activities.

“He is a great professional, honored by his teammates, employees and Fulham supporters, and he has scored some very important goals for the club.”
