The Baylor University wears football program for an unimaginable tragedy after the death of one of them.

Alex Foster, an 18-year-old defensive Lineman, was shot in a car early on Wednesday morning in a car in Greenville, Mississippi.

The tragedy unfolded in Greenville, where violence has escalated in recent weeks. Mayor Errick D. Simmons spoke to the growing wave of violence and called it a direct threat to the city.

The spokesperson for the Greenville police, Major Misty Mist, told The Associated Press that officers responded to a phone call in a residential and commercial area just after midnight.

They discovered a man with several shot wounds in a vehicle.

Although not officially identified on the spot, the victim was transported to the hospital and declared dead 30 to 40 minutes later. No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
