Last weekend Rizin Rizin 51 held Nagoya in the newly opened IG Arena. The show attracted a reported crowd of 17,000 and had many highlights. They varied from the final of the heavyweight Grand Prix, the semi -final of the Flyweight Grand Prix, two title fights and one of the craziest fights of the year.
Rizin 51: Genji Umeno
Genji Umeno (2-0) has joined the long list of kickboxers who switched to MMA. Some have been successful, while others have failed to adapt to the multi -layered sport. Umeno seems to be the first, after he has won this, his second MMA fight. He faced the former K-1 Kickboxer Ryusei Ashizawa, who entered this match with four MMA fights, after he won two.
In one of the craziest back and forth battles of the year, these two started swinging as soon as the bell rang. Umeno turned out to be the more versatile hunter, being able to bring down Ashizawa and try to submit it with a guillotine and triangle stick.
But the momentum shifted in the third round. Ashizawa hit Umeno and delivered some footstamps on his head. He made a crucial mistake. He took the ropes that is against the rules. The referee called for a break and gave Ashizawa a yellow card. The yellow card cost him a point and a percentage of his bag.
The two kept fighting back and forth and the fight ended with both men battered and exhausted.
Umeno always had the dangerous Muay Thai who stood out in his arsenal, but since he switched to MMA, he has shown an evolving game and submitting the submission. Given the most difficult aspect of MMA, if he continues to evolve at this current pace, he will be a well-rounded MMA hunter in no time.
A good opponent would be another kickboxer who became MMA hunter, Kouzi. The two have a history in kickboxing, so there is a built -in storyline for their potential fight.
Rizin 51: Razhabali Shaydullaev

33 seconds. That is all champion Rizin Featherweight Razahabili Shizdullaev (16-0) Needed for his first title defense. “You can’t beat him! You can’t stop him,” Michael Schiavello shouted on comment after Shaydullaev had improved his undefeated record to 16-0. Among the other crazy statistics from Shaydullaev include the completion of each opponent and must see a third round.
As soon as the round started, you saw that Shaydullaev had the greatest confidence in what his most difficult fight could be so far. The only thing needed was a right cross to bring Kolesnik. He swung on top of him, kept his shoulder under the hook to prevent himself from defending himself, laid a ground and pound, and the referee waved the fight.
Shaydullaev is one of the top five hunters outside the UFC. The man is no longer a prospect. It’s not about whether he will win, but how he will win. He is competitions above the competition at 145 in Rizin. The only fight that would be logical is to take on his heaviest challenge so far: lightweight champion Roberto “Satoshi” de Souza. If he defeated Satoshi, this would be the crowning glory of his career so far.
Rizin 51: Roberto “Satoshi” de Souza

Roberto “Satoshi” De Souza (20-3) is in a tear in the lightweight division. He has finished all his opponents, but one and had successfully defended his title for the fifth time. The question was that he would choose to hit Yoshinori Horie with striker or use his bread and butter elite jiu-jitsu.
As soon as the fight began, Souza went into for a Takedown and Backpacked Horie. It was then a matter of time before Satoshi sank in just less than two minutes in a second -hand choke.
The development of Satoshi as MMA hunter has been remarkable. Towards the beginning was his striking lukewarm and timid. He was also afraid of being hit. But he has now become a man with hands of stone, and if he doesn’t stand out, he always has Jiu-Jitsu to be dependent.
As mentioned earlier, the fight to make is a Supervecht against Razhabali Shaydullaev. It could be both a great test for the hunters and one of the highest -quality superfights of all time.
Rizin 51: Yuki Motoya
Yuki Motoya (39-13, 1 AD) Is the excellent example of teaching a dog new tricks may not always be the best. At one point he fell too much in love with his striking and it made him lost fighting that he might have had to win. Once he fell back on his elite MMA wrestling, he started to pick up big wins at high-level competition, including many younger boys you might have expected to beat him.
In his flying weight Grand Prix semi-final fight against Makoto Shinryu, Motoya was able to increase and surpass the former CFFC champion. He was able to take several times, sweep and take the back of Shinryu.
Motoya will now be confronted with Hiromasa Oukikubo in the Flyweight Grand Prix Finals.
