Riya Bhatia is a power player who has learned to be consistent. She enjoys her tennis all over the world. The results are displayed.
Her last tournament was the ITF lady event of $ 60,000 in Amstetten, Austria. The 27-year-old Riya qualified and reached the quarterfinals of Singles. And in collaboration with Michaela Bayerlova of the Czech Republic, Riya made the semi -finals.
On 494 in the world in Singles, Riya tries to return to her best rank of 338 she had reached in 2023. In Doubles she has the best rank of 210 at the moment, which means that her third behind Prarthana Thombal (134) and Ankita Raina (183) is in the country.
Finding a training lock for fourteen days with coach Aditya Sachdeva on the Roundglass Academy in Chandigarh, Riya could collect energy to think about her career.
“The best part of this journey is to see my game becoming stronger. The consistent progress in my fitness and skill levels is a huge motivation. It reminds me of my ability and it is quite exciting to visualize how much more I can achieve,” said Riya, especially satisfied with her mental toughness when going through many difficult matches.
“It requires a special kind of focus to play every point on its merit. You acknowledge the nerves, but you still have to perform at your best. That is something that I work consistently,” said Riya.
She is happy to quickly climb on the WTA Ranking Ladder in Doubles.
“The career-best rank in Doubles is a big milestone for me. It has taught me a lot about my game. Playing Double has unlocked strong points that I didn’t even know. I play the best tennis of my career, both in singles and double. The rankings cannot reflect now, but I am competing with a river.

Gratitude is currently the overwhelming emotion in her system.
“Adi Sir is a big influence on my career. He understands my game better than any other coach. I am also incredibly happy to train on the Roundglass Academy. I am surrounded by great physios, trainers and coaches. I have a strong group of players to practice and compete against every day. The environment is getting better,” she said.
As the fifth best -arranged player in singles behind Shrivalli Bhamidipty, Sahaja Yamalapalli, Ankita Raina and Vaidehee Chaudhari, Riya knows that she has a clear chance of making the national team, if she plays strong in the big events.
“Representing India is the highest honor, and I would absolutely like to be part of the national team. My task is to stay strong, to continue to work hard and to keep performing at the highest level I can,” she said.
The parents have been phenomenal in supporting Riya and she is grateful to her Indian oil of the employer.
“My family and Indian oil are my backbone and offer incredible support that has been so essential in my journey. To bring my career to the next level and to compete worldwide, I am actively looking for sponsors to cover the costs of travel and tournaments,” she said.
Riya is ready to go back to Europe for more tournaments, and it would be exciting to hold her path ahead.
