Columbus, GA – The Columbus River Dragons completed the sweep of the Baton Rouge Zydeco on Saturday night, shutting them out 5-0 in regulation.
Trevor Babin took the net for the River Dragons vs. Connor Green between the pipes for the Zydeco.
The first period was scoreless for the second time this weekend.
The second frame saw strong efforts from Columbus, while Baton Rouge seemed to be nipping at their heels.
At 1:51, Tyler Barrow opened the night with a goal after two quick passes from Cody Wickline and Alex Storjohann.
At 2:31 the trio struck again, this time with Cody Wickline scoring after quick passes from Tyler Barrow and Alex Storjohann.
At the 7:47 mark, Ryan Hunter scored the third goal of the night, ending the second frame with the River Dragons ahead, 3-0.
At 3:48 in the final frame, Skate Skalde was hit with a 2-minute minor for Hooking. On the PK, Ryan Hunter scored the SHG at 4:04 to extend the River Dragons’ lead to 4-0.

Alex Storjohann poured salt on the Zydeco wounds, scoring a PPG at 5:15.
Trevor Babin blocked all 31 shots the Zydeco fired at him, earning his first shutout of the season.
Alex Storjohann, Tyler Barrow, Cody Wickline, Alexander Jmaeff and Ryan Hunter produced multi-point performances.
Alex Storjohann, in his 201st professional game, produced 3 points: 1 goal and 2 assists. Ryan Hunter also produced 3 points: 2 goals and an assist.
Tyler Barrow and Cody Wickline each scored two points, each scored a goal and assisted once.
Alexander Jmaeff assisted twice tonight and scored two points.
Connor Green blocked 55 of 60 shots tonight and posted a SV% of 91.67 for the Zydeco.
The Columbus River Dragons are preparing to face the Biloxi Breakers at home next Friday as they look to extend their current four-game winning streak.
