Ripple Issues a Major Scam Warning: Crucial Red Flags for the XRP Army

Ripple is no exception; the team recently raised the alarm about a dangerous scheme that could harm unsuspecting users.

Earlier today (November 12), the team at RippleX warned on X that bad actors are using fake Ripple or XRP live streams, giveaways or deepfake videos. Such schemes are typically used to trick people into sending their money to fraudulent addresses, offering promises of substantial returns or exclusive rewards in exchange for participation.

Ripple emphasized that its employees will never ask users to transfer assets, share wallet data or participate in investment flows. It urged individuals to always verify information through the company’s official channels.

“Keep your XRP yours,” it added.

Over the summer, the Ripple community was hit by a new dangerous scam. The company’s CEO Brad Garlinghouse warned that fraudsters were targeting the XRP Army on YouTube by posing as the entity’s official account.

“We have noticed an increase in XRP scams on YouTube – scammers steal accounts and then update the page to pretend to be Ripple’s official account (username: Ripple). Reminder: Ripple or our executives will NEVER ask you to send us XRP,” the warning reads.

Garlinghouse assured that the company’s team will report these cases and urge the community to do the same. He also recalled the timeless warning that every crypto investor should remember: “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”

Other fraudulent schemes

Binance and Shiba Inu are also among the crypto projects that are often targeted by malicious actors. Earlier this month, Richard Teng, the exchange’s CEO, warned of phishing fraud on the messaging platform WhatsApp.

The SHIB Army, in turn, is often attacked by offenders who mimic the meme coin’s logo and offer “special” promotions to lure people and ultimately embezzle their money. In some cases, scammers even use token airdrops to trick individuals.
