The Acura ZDX has been canceled. Again. It is also not a big surprise, since the Honda website already advertises the passport 2026, but if you go to the Acura site, you will see that it is still stuck on the ZDX 2024. Moreover, there is the part where the ZDX is in fact a Cadillac Lyriq who will be wearing an acura car maker, and the Japanese car maker, an electric lancum, an electric lancum, an electric lancumer, and the Japanese, an electric lancering, one on the lancer, an electric lancering, one on the lancer. His own platform is built.
The news was first reported by The Site Car -Dealer -ManHe claimed to have seen an internal memo sent to dealers. Acura has since released a statement that confirms and says the cancellation of the ZDX:
In order to better tailor our product portfolio to the needs of our customers and market conditions, as well as our long -term strategic goals, we can confirm that the Acura ZDX has terminated production.
ZDX has played a valuable role for the Acura brand and will offer a basis on which we will build next year with the arrival of the fully electric Acura RSX, which will be produced in the EV hub in Ohio in the second half of 2026, as well as with Hybrid-Electric Acura models in development.
Acura ZDX customers will continue to receive full product support through our dealer network, including service, parts and guarantee coverage.
This step also comes just a few days before the federal tax credit of $ 7,500 disappears, murdered by Republicans who believe that only the oil and gas industry should receive government subsidies.
A bargain for used car
When we first rode the now Dead Acura ZDX, we discovered that the Ultium platform on which it was built meant that it still had “a real caverneus interior” and offered what good technology offered, even if it wasn’t real acura. It also didn’t hurt that it made a lot of power, with the base model with one engine flowing 358 hp and 324 pound-foot torque, while the type S made 500 hp and 544 LB-FT of the double motors. It also offered the rare combination of Apple CarPlay support and GM’s Super Cruise Driver assistance technology.
Yet the ZDX was abandoned by disappointing interior materials that made it a hard sale compared to many of its competitors and their much more luxurious huts. As we said at the time: “Everything under the armrests, and yes, that includes the entire center console at two level, feels like it belongs in a $ 30,000 car, no $ 75,000 car.” Thanks to discounts and incentives, however, Acura was still able to sell more ZDXs than you would expect. By the end of August, the sale of the year to date was 11,520, which is not far from the 13,072 Integras that are sold in the same period.
Although you may not have been interested in a ZDX type S of $ 75,000 when new, used examples already begin to appear for less than $ 40,000. And that was before the cancellation of the ZDX. In another six months, who knows how far away values will fall. If you can get a crossover of 500 hp with Supercruise and CarPlay for $ 25,000, you might just have to look more seriously at a used ZDX-Type S.
