Rimac unveils the ultra-exclusive Nevera R Founder’s Edition, limited to just 10 cars

If there’s one thing we can be sure of, it’s that hypercar owners love an exclusive special edition car and the associated perks from automakers. Take McLaren for example. The high-performance British manufacturer announced this summer that a hand-picked group of customers would be given the opportunity to purchase their own hypercar, including access to behind-the-scenes development. Now Rimac is getting in on the exclusivity game and offering a limited edition version of the Nevera R called the Founder’s Edition.

Changes to the Nevera R focus on the visuals, with each car designed to the customer’s taste. The real value of the Founder’s Edition is the list of benefits that come with the car. According to Rimac, each of the ten (yes, only ten) customers will sit down with Mate Rimac itself and Rimac’s design team to configure each custom model. The basis for the special edition is a two-tone design that separates the top of the car from the bottom, while a central stripe separates the left and right sides of the car. According to Rimac, the asymmetrical seating layout inside is a tribute to the configuration of Mate’s personal Nevera.

For as long as they own the car, Founder’s Edition customers will receive priority invitations to product previews, invitations to performance demonstrations and record attempts, access to strategy discussions and a company card with access to Bugatti-Rimac headquarters. They will also receive special driver training from Rimac’s professional testing team, and Mate Rimac will attend the delivery of all 10 cars.

Rimac made no mention of any performance changes over the production version of the track-focused Nevera R, but that’s not a bad thing. The production version already has a power of 2107 hp thanks to the electric drivetrain with four motors. That much power is reportedly good enough for a zero-to-60-mph time of 1.7 seconds and a quarter-mile time of just 8.2 seconds. According to Mate Rimac, the Nevera R is the only car in the world that accelerates faster than it brakes, which is quite a party trick.

Rimac hasn’t publicly announced the prices for the Founder’s Edition (and probably won’t), but they will certainly be astronomically high. Yet Rimac says that not only is every model taken into account, but the full allocation list was completed within a week of the car being shown privately to customers earlier this year.
