Rich Paul addressed recent speculation on his podcast, Game Over with Max and Rich, and strongly pushed back against claims that he requested that Anthony Davis be traded.

Paul specifically disputed reports from the previous week suggesting he had pushed for Davis to be moved within a short timeframe.

“That thing got merged. This is the power of the internet. If you’re wondering why Rich Paul has a podcast, this is part of the reason why,” Paul said, explaining that the platform allows him to clarify misinformation while emphasizing that he plans to podcast responsibly and continue to prioritize his customers.

“The reality is it’s fake news,” Paul said, referring to the alleged trade demand. “When you have a player who’s on a team, it’s not like you want guys to move just to be moved. If a guy is happy where he is, great. You care about people’s families, you care about the guy’s well-being, and you care if they’re happy. From a business perspective, you want guys to get paid. I really don’t care where the money comes from, the money for me can come from the 31st team in the NBA. As long as my guy gets paid.” is in a position to get paid, that’s all I want to do… This idea: I don’t want a player somewhere, that’s not true.

Despite Paul’s comments, multiple reports indicate that the Dallas Mavericks and Davis are both open to exploring trade opportunities.

Davis is reportedly looking for a contract extension this season, and Dallas may be hesitant to offer a max deal to the veteran center. That uncertainty could lead to Davis being moved to a team more willing to meet his contract expectations.
