Want to get more out of your TikTok marketing efforts?
Posting frequency is an important consideration here and ensures that you maintain an active profile, which keeps users coming back and maximizes your reach.
But what is the optimal posting frequency on TikTok?
The team at Buffer recently tried to find out, by… analyzing over 11 million TikTok uploadsfrom more than 150,000 accounts, to better understand the role frequency plays in overall TikTok performance.
And it is significant.
According to Buffer dataposting more often leads to more views per post, with TikTok’s algorithm seemingly rewarding consistent activity.
And your average view numbers will continue to increase as you post more.

As you can see in this chart, the data shows that posting 2 to 5 times per week gives you an average of 17% increase in views per post, but posting more than 11 times per week doubles that average performance rate.
Why?
Buffer’s claim here is that average views are a bit misleading in this regard, because what actually happens when you post more often is that you increase your chances of getting a lot of reach with a single post. So while most posts will generally have a relatively small number of views, the more you post, the more likely one is to become a hit, increasing your average.
But even taking this consideration into account, the data still shows that posting more often will lead to better results overall.
If Buffer notes:
“Posting more often does not necessarily lead to a higher floor, but it does lead to a higher ceiling.”
So while this doesn’t mean that every single update will deliver a huge increase in reach due to posting frequency, the data does suggest that posting more often will ultimately yield greater reach results, while also helping you build an audience, establish your brand, etc.
So it’s time to get started. Eleven TikToks a week is feasible, right? I mean, you have all these AI generators and image-to-text and text-to-video tools at your disposal. You can just pump 40+ TikTok per month.
Right?
Look, it may not be realistic to schedule such a large number of TikTok clips, but the data suggests that posting more content and trying more things will lead to better performance.
I think you could also argue that using TikTok trendsand by using already viral formats, or creating your own original recordings based on what works, you would be just as successful with fewer clips. But again, the data shows that posting more will lead to better performance over time.
