Whatever his net salary, what is indisputable is that the Frenchman – despite all the criticism he has received this season – is one of Arne Slot’s most trusted players. third most minutes from everyone at Liverpool so far this season.
Sometimes a player longs for a new challenge, and perhaps that applies to the 26-year-old, who is now in his fifth season with the Reds. If no monetary offer convinces him to stay at LFC, he will leave with the club’s blessing next summer.
However, if Konate has simply bided his time to get the best possible deal for himself and is happy to stay on Merseyside, then we’d be more than happy to have him for a few more years given his importance to Slot’s side.
