The provisional targeted return of Alvarez will take place everywhere from April to September 2026, assuming that the operation is successful and there are no setbacks after the procedure. This will mark one of the longest medical-related hiatuses of the career of Alvarez.

Before the loss for Crawford, Alvarez won six consecutive fights, including decisive victories over Gennady Golovkin and Jermell Charlo. The Crawford -Matchup flourished after Alvarez had yielded a matte performance in May in a victory over William Scull.

In the midst of the absence of Alvarez, the Riyadh season could possibly book Crawford against David Benavidez to help the super middleweight division ahead.
