Rep. Ilhan Omar suggests that Trump’s America is worse than Somalia: “I remember that I never witness anything like that” (video) | The Gateway expert | By Ben Kew

Show left -wing rep. Ilhan Omar has insisted that her home country was not so bad that America is under President Trump.

The Congressman of Minnesota made the comments during an appearance this weekend on the YouTube channel Democracy now!Where she complained about the policy of the Trump administration of massive deportations and the repair of the law and order to cities such as Washington DC and Chicago.

She explained:

Armed men who are in ordinary clads who chase away people from the streets do not willing to identify themselves. You have the army that is used in our streets. My God, this is America. You have the rights of states that are ignored. You know, the constitutional crisis created before our eyes.

And in the same week in which we have a president who used the army, who were trained to kill our enemies, not in Americans, but our enemies, are in our streets. It is the same week that we have a military parade. Can you imagine that image that comes from our country?

I mean, I grew up in a dictatorship. And I don’t even remember that I ever witness something like that. To have a democracy, a beacon of hope for the world, to be changed now to one of the worst countries where the army in our streets is without taking into account the constitutional rights of people.

While our president spends millions of dollars and encourages himself as a failed dictator with a military parade. It is really shocking and it should be a wake-up call for all Americans to say that this is not the country in which we were born, this is not the country we believe in, this is not the country that our founding fathers have not thought of, and this is not the country supported by our constitution, our ideals, our values.

We all have to be collectively on the street who rejects what is happening this week.

When Omar and her family arrived in the US in 1995, Somalia was already a failed state.

The central government was overthrown years earlier, so that the country was carved by rival warlords and militias that terrorized citizens with violence, extortion and checkpoints.

Law and Order had fallen completely and famine and illness had already killed hundreds of thousands.

In the same year, the United Nations left its failed peace mission and withdrew after years of bloodshed and humiliation.

Somalia left a stateless wasteland where the survival depended on clan -loyalty and the barrel of a gun.

The situation of the country has not improved much since then. It is generally considered the most dangerous country on earth, whereby the US Department of Foreign Affairs encourages Americans not to travel there under all circumstances.
