Reliance Industries Ownership of Reliance Retail Ventures registered a profit increase by 28 percent after tax with £ 3,271 crore in the quarter that ended on 30 June compared to £ 2,549 crore registered in the same period last year led by strong performance in supermarket and fashion segment.
The company said that the gross turnover during the quarter increased by 11.3 percent by £ 84.171 Crore compared to £ 75,615 crore that was reported last year. A dip of 5.02 percent was registered by £ 88,620 crore reported in March.
The EBITDA grew by 12.7 percent on an annual basis to £ 6,381 crore with margin improved 20 BP to 8.7 percent.
Furthermore, the company said that consumer electronics and devices were hit because of the early start of the monsoon with recovery.
During the quarter, Reliance Retail opened 338 new stores, the total number of stores of the company is now at 19,592. The quarter registered a customer base that grew to 358 million.

Consumer electronics
The consumer electronics segment registered a growth of 26 percent on an annual basis. “The sale of AC was influenced by the early start of the monsoon. The RESQ service remains the most popular and largest service network, where the Service Center network reaches 1,621 locations and 31 percent grew on an annual basis,” the company said.
Jiomart’s fast delivery assignments grew by 68 percent quarterly-on-quarter and 175 percent on an annual basis. The activities of the company have been scaled to 4,290 pin codes that are maintained by more than 2,200 stores in more than 1,000 cities.
In supermarket, growth was wide in different categories, packed food grew by 13 percent on an annual basis. The metro format saw strong growth during the quarter with categories, including home care and personal care that 25 percent grew on an annual basis, hot drinks, dry fruit and nuts grew by 20 percent on an annual basis.
“The fashion and lifestyle business witnessed the growth of turnover and EBITDA driven by new store formats and strong own brand performance. Growth has picked up several initiatives in the past 4 quarters, with Reliance Trends Trends designs in trends and improvement of the width of 59 Percentage registered with the percentage of the Percentage year.
