Regaled has long been knocking on the door of a big win.

More than a year ago on 71-1 she walked one last third in the Delaware Oaks. Other good attempts followed: Secondly, a neck in the heavenly case, third in the Allaire du Pont, second in the Groupie Doll, third in the Locust Grove of Grade 2.

But no victories.

“We were just looking for that breakout victory,” Alan Ribble admitted, whose Ribble Farms is co-owner of the four-year-old Mohaymen Filly together with front page Equestrian LLC.

Don’t look anymore.

Regaled benefited from a Zippy pace, which sown the leaders, and she exploded through the job to register a dominant 6 ¼-length victory in Grade 3 of Sunday, $ 400,000 Delaware Handicap.

The victory was her second of the year and fourth general, from 17 Starts. She has earned $ 498,810.

It was also the first victory in three starts for its current connections after Legion Bloodstock had compiled the partnership that bought her for $ 300,000 at the INGLIS Digital USA May Sale.

“Legion Bloodstock had looked at her and we had another horse [half-sister Drexel Hill] With a part of the same breeding on the Damside, and we had something like that [Front Page] And said, “You have to buy this horse.” ‘

Regaled is from the winning Daaher Mare Ascot Walk. Drexel Hill, by Bolt d’Oro, was the winner of the BUSHER in March and second in this year’s class 1 Kentucky Oaks.

A purchase of $ 9,500 as a teat, she was located in Laurel Park with trainer Sam Davis for owner Brittnee Caballero. They won three races with her and picked up a whole series of deployment placements, and after another opportunity-ending effort, then third on 30-1 in the Allaire du Pont Distaff in Pimlico, they sold her.

After the purchase, Whit Beckman took over the training and she had driven two good races – without winning – for the new connections. But the last one in third place in the Locust Grove-Was only two weeks ago.

“We always focused on this race, and [after the Locust Grove] Whit went: “Well, I don’t know if we do the Delaware race, unless she just comes out and sniffed,” Ribble laughed. ” And literally she came around the corner and stooped and sniffed as if she wanted to go again. ‘

Regaled was certainly not overlooked by gamblers in the Delcap-Ze on 3.20-1-but they usually had eyes for grade 3 royal delta winner Dazzling Move (4-5) and the grade 1 placed majestic Oops (2.10-1).

It was those two – mostly dazzling move, under Jockey Micah -Appearers – who set the Delcap pace. Dazzling Moving stuck to a lead of 2 1/2 length in the opening quarter-mile while threw a debilitating 22.83 seconds more open. Majestic Oops, with Sonny Leon, who previously won the Wilmington Stakes on board Silver Slugger, was the nearest pursuer and a length for her rivals.

Spouses tried, with incomplete success, to slow things down, half in 47.02 seconds and three -quarters in 1: 10.99. At that time, Dazzling Move retained a three -length lead and majestic Oops remained her nearest pursuer.

But the main duo was about to hit the wall, while Regaled, for the first half, just started to be.

“I actually had no more glasses on the back because the song was muddy and sticky,” said winning rider Joseph Ramos. “Everything kept holding on to them, but I thought I had to have at least one left to take this home.”

Still it was the turn of the turn, Ramos put himself on the turn of turning off, and although she was still doing work while the field was running at home, Regaled was in full flight with only tiring runners for her. Ramos knucked her in the lead between rivals and she eagerly pulled away to win.

“I tapped her on the three-wayest and she jumped forward,” said Ramos. “At that moment I knew I had them. I kept pushing and going and she responded. In the piece she was strong, and I am very proud of the way she ran today.”

Regaled completed the nine Furlongs on a muddy, sealed main track in 1: 50.94. Runaway Diva, a 14-1 outsider, became second, while dazzling movement kept third, 4 ½ lengths further back. Majestic Oops and Queen of Missoula, on 25-1 in her first start since last year’s Delcap, completed the order of finish. Gun Song and Margie’s intention were scratched.

Regaled paid $ 8.40 to win and was at the top of an exact one returned $ 32.10 for a deployment of one dollar.

When Ramos, on board today, was proud of the Run of Regaled today, he might be more proud to date where she goes to the next one. The victory here offers the connections $ 30,000 for admission prices for the Distaff of the Breeders’ Cup.

Of course, the owner, noted that trainer Whit Beckman also has something to say about that. But she certainly looked today.

“Breeders’ Cup is where we wanted to go as owners,” said Ribble. “That has been my ultimate goal: to get a breeders’ cup horse. It seems that she belongs.”
