Drew Davies started in right field for Adelaide in game one and picked up three hits. After singled in the 4th inning, he returned to the plate in the 5th inning with a runner on and threw a pitch for a 2-run home run. It was the first homerun the recently turned 20-year-old has hit in the winter league of his home country. In the 2025 minor league season, he hit four in 81 games, splitting time between the Arizona Complex League and Single-A Daytona.
Davies picked up another single in his final at bat of game one to finish 3-4 with a home run. The left-handed hitter would also start in right field in game two and got two more hits. One of those hits was a double. That gave him a 5-8 day with a double and a home run for Adelaide.
On the other hand, none of the Reds prospects had the same type of day as Davies, but catcher Jirvin Morillo did go 2-3 with two doubles in the first game. He followed that up by going 0-4 in the second game – still a solid day at the dish. He is now hitting .313/400/.484 in 19 games. Morillo’s .884 OPS ranks 9th in the league. Both he and Davies have six doubles, which puts them tied for 8th in the league.
