But before that, we have four honorable mentions that just didn’t make it into the Top 10.
Choosing just 10 moments from the entire season is no easy task, and we felt these highlights deserved some love.
Honorable mentions
Edwin Diaz signs with the Dodgers
Starting with the most recent appearance on the entire list, the Dodgers signed All-Star closer Edwin Diaz to a three-year contract worth $69 million on December 9. Although he has yet to play a game in Dodger Blue, Diaz is one of the best closers in the league and will be a huge boost to the Dodgers’ bullpen.
The righthander posted a 1.63 ERA through 62 appearances in 2025, striking out 98 batters in 66.1 innings pitched.
Kiké Hernandez re-signs with LA
Kiké Hernandez has established himself as a fan favorite in Los Angeles, and we would be doing a legend a disservice if we didn’t include him somewhere on our list. Hernandez re-signed with the Dodgers on February 9 and played a major role in the Dodgers’ season.
He got off to a good start in the 2025 postseason, coming through in big moments in the first two series and helping convert a crucial double play in Game 6 of the World Series to force a Game 7.
Benches vacant in Dodgers vs. Padres
The Dodgers and Padres series have not disappointed in recent seasons, and 2025 was no exception.
The rivals played seven times in eleven days in mid-season, and matters came to a boiling point on June 19 in the final match of a four-match set.
Dodgers reliever Jack Little threw Fernando Tatis Jr. on hand in the top of the ninth inning with the Dodgers trailing by five runs, marking the third time he had been hit by a Dodgers pitcher in nine days. This prompted Padres manager Mike Shildt to run out of the dugout while shouting and pointing fingers at Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.
Roberts promptly left the dugout to meet Shildt, and a few shoves between the managers cleared the benches and bullpens. The Dodgers mounted a comeback in the bottom of the ninth, but ultimately could not complete a four-game sweep of the Padres, but still won nine of their thirteen games over the course of the season.
Shohei Ohtani Trolls Diamondbacks-Lourdes Gurriel Jr.
Shohei Ohtani had a lot of big moments over the course of the year, but this was one of our favorites.
The Dodgers and Diamondbacks had a slugfest on May 9, with the teams combining to score 25 runs in a thriller. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit a grand slam to tie the game at eight points apiece in the bottom of the fifth inning, and held his hands up after hitting the ball.
The Dodgers fell behind, 11-8, heading into the ninth inning before rallying to tie the game at 11 on a late-inning rally. Ohtani found himself at the plate with two on and one out, doing what he does. The superstar crushed a three-run homer and mocked Gurriel’s celebration, holding his arms up as he began running around the bases.
