Reds @ Dodgers 25 August 2025: Dodgers return home in a draw for first in the West, Enrique Hernandez returns from IL – Dodgers Digest

The Dodgers (74-57) avoided being swept at the weekend in San Diego when the attack came to life on Sunday. Dalton HurryThe three-run bomb gave the Dodgers a seventh inning lead, and Freddie Freeman And Shohei Ohtani Homde to put the game out of reach for an 8-2 victory. The Padres took two of the three to go on top of the West in a draw, but the Dodgers have the tie -graker by winning nine of the 13 games against the pads this season. The Dodgers have 31 games to place some distance between them and the Padres and to catch up with the other division winners to earn a first round (currently 2.5 games back from the Phillies and 7 back of Milwaukee). Today they start a homing area with six games with three against the Reds. The Reds (68-63) fight for a Wild Card place, 1.5 games back from the Mets for the third and last place. They have been a bit striped lately and broke a three-game Losing Streak yesterday with a victory in Arizona. They are a match over .500 (11-10) in August after completing a July match over .500 (13-12) and despite a record of 18-17 since the All-Star Break, they have fallen from 7.5 games back from Milwaukee to 13 games. The Dodgers went to Cincinnati at the end of July and took two of the three, won the first two games before they dropped the final.

Emmet Sheehan Get the ball out of a few rough start in Anaheim and Colorado. Sheehan had allowed 10 points earned points during his first seven starts this season, but admitted five in Anaheim and four in Colorado. Greene stood twice opposite the Dodgers as a rookie and twice last season. He struggled in the two starts like a Rookie, causing 14 hits and eight points and four homers to allow more than 10 1/3 innings. Last season was much better for Greene, which allowed nine hits and three runs more than 12 1/3 and picked up his first victory against the Dodgers previous time out.

If he is healthy, Greene is one of the best pitchers in baseball this season. Greene’s average Fastball of 99.3 MPH is the fastest among starters and the sixth fastest among all qualified pitchers on Savant. He throws it 56.3 percent of the time and striking people touch .218 with a .365 slugging against it (expected numbers .222 and .412, respectively). He has thrown a slider 34.5 percent of the time and has a scent of 48.6 percent on it. Under the starts with more than 70 innings threw, Greene’s 32.3 percent strikeout rate is the fourth best and are 4.9 percent walking speed is the 10th best baseball. He does have the second lowest ground balls (28.2 percent), so if the Dodgers hopefully get honers, they can hopefully avoid playing double.

Nothing too crazy with the line -up. Alex Freeland starts again in third place and Miguel Rojas starts with the second. For the Reds, old friend Gavin Lux touches fifth.
