Pork chops from the Airfryer is a recipe I decided to try after Kara and I loved using the Air Fryer to make perfect and easy pork loin roasts. And we were happy to discover that air frying was also an easy way to make pork chops that were an absolute wow!
I divided the leftovers with Kara, as I always do when we cook together. And I ended up eating my leftover pork chop cold from the fridge the next morning, so you know it was really tasty! For best results, you’ll want to use thick, bone-in chops for this recipe, and we used chops that were over an inch thick. Thin chops dry out in the Airfryer.

What flavor does the Air Fryer Pork Chops recipe add?
I mixed up a rub that came with it Penzey’s Pork Chop Seasoning (a product I have loved for years), sweet paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and dried sage, and those ingredients really added flavor to the chops. If you don’t have Penzey’s Pork Chops Seasoning, use a rub that is good for pork. (And Penzey’s doesn’t pay me to promote their product and I bought it myself, in case anyone is wondering!)
How do you know when pork chops are done in the air fryer?
You may need to experiment with the exact cooking time for your air fryer model. The best way to know when they’re ready is to have a Instant-read meat thermometer (affiliate link) to cook the chops until they reach a temperature of 145F/65C. But overall, this recipe is simple and pretty foolproof!

Which Airfryer did I use?
I became a big air fryer fan after I tried the Cuisinart air fryer toaster oven (affiliate link) that’s what I used for this pork chops recipe. This air fryer has a larger basket, which I can fit four large chops into, and I find this model very easy to use. I also like the convenience of an air fryer that stays on the counter.

- Mix spices to make the rub.
- The pork chops shown here were just over an inch thick; I do not recommend thin chops for this recipe.
- If desired, trim a little fat from the chops (or make slits in the fat).
- Rub the chops on both sides with olive oil and then with the spice rub.
- If necessary, preheat the Airfryer to 200 degrees Celsius.
- Cook for six minutes on the first side.
- Flip and cook for another 6 minutes on the second side, or until Instant-read meat thermometer (affiliate link) shows 145F/65C.
- Serve the Airfryer pork chops warm and enjoy!

1 teaspoon. Penzey’s Pork Chop Seasoning (see notes)
1 teaspoon. sweet pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. sage rubbed
1/2 tsp. salt (or less, to taste)
1/2 tsp. coarsely ground black pepper (or less, to taste)
4 thick bone-in pork chops
2 T olive oil
Instructions
- Mix Penzey’s Pork Chop Seasoning (or other pork rub), sweet paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried rubbed sage to make the rub.
- If desired, trim a little fat from the chops. If you prefer to keep the fat, I recommend making a few cuts in the fat so it doesn’t shrink as the chops cook.
- Rub the pork chops on both sides with a little olive oil and then rub them generously with the spice rub.
- Preheat the Airfryer to 200C (400F/200C) if your Airfryer model requires preheating.
- Cook pork chops for six minutes on the first side.
- When you turn them over, you may see some ridges from the air fryer basket, but don’t worry about that.
- Cook the pork chops for about 6 minutes on the second side, or until done Instant-read meat thermometer (affiliate link) shows 145F/65C.
- I recommend pork chops that are just over an inch thick.
- Slightly thinner chops obviously take less time, but I don’t recommend using very thin chops for this recipe!
- Serve the Airfryer pork chops warm and enjoy!

Use any rub made for pork if you don’t have Penzey’s Pork Chop Seasoning, but Penzey’s Pork Chop Seasoning is really great!
Kara and I looked at Air Fryer recipes online when we started testing this recipe, but it was using Penzeys Pork Chop Seasoning that really made these recipes delicious!
