Rebels beat rivals to achieve 86th lifetime victory

FORT WASHINGTON, MD. — PT Stable is rebellious (Mach Three) took advantage of a pocket trip and emerged from the open stretch to collar pacer Leonard’s Legacy to score the 86th victory of his running career in Monday’s (Nov. 17) $12,000 Open Handicap Pace at Rosecroft Raceway.

William Carter secured a pocket ride for Rebellious behind Leonard’s Legacy (driven by Tim Deaton) through a sharp :26.2 first quarter, and the pair came close behind center splits of :55.4 and 1:23.3. After Leonard’s Legacy rejected a first-over bid from 1-2 favorite Sheer Terror (Jonathan Roberts) heading home, Carter Rebellious cut loose in the open stretch, and the 11-year-old Mach Three-Winbak Pam gelding accelerated to beat Leonard’s Legacy by a neck in 1:51.4. Sheer Terror finished two lengths further back in third place.

Bryson Dunning trains Rebellious, who paid $21 to win 9-1 as the third choice.

Russell Foster led all drivers with three wins on the 13-race card; Eric Davis, Roger Plante Jr. and Jonathan Roberts all scored doubles.
