“We always encourage and challenge our brokers and franchise owners to give us a reason to take action,” he said.
Culture is the main driver, not an IPO
This commitment to culture, according to Jewgieniew, is one of the main reasons why the company has never done an IPO.
“There’s a lot of business talk and a business approach in the industry right now, and we approach business by focusing on taking care of our clients and supporting the success of our real estate professionals, and I believe that’s one of the big differentiators,” he said.
According to Jewgieniew, this approach has helped his company retain agents and franchisees, and has also fueled the global growth of Realty ONE Group, which now has a presence in nearly 30 countries around the world.
Building a global brand
“When I started, I never wanted to be a local, regional or even national real estate company. I’m always curious and have wild dreams, so I wanted to be a global brand, but I knew we had to do it at the right time with the right team,” he said.
These pieces fell into place a few years ago, Jewgieniew said, when the right combination of new talent and experienced leaders — some of whom have been with the company for nearly 20 years — came together. As he and the team continue to focus on Realty ONE Group’s international expansion through 2026, he noted that the company’s technology platform and proprietary coaching business are other areas they plan to put some work into in the coming year.
“We spent time this year overhauling our proprietary technology platform, and we rolled that out last month at our annual event in Miami. The team working on it is now actually our largest team internally, along with our marketing and branding department,” Jewgieniew said. “It’s a significant upgrade and it connects our entire ecosystem – not just digital – but also locally, because we will always remain a physical store.”
When it comes to the coaching world, Jewgieniew said he is excited about his company’s recent announcement about its relationship with Brian Buffini, as well as their ongoing relationship with Tony Robbins, as he cites the two of them as his biggest inspirations both in life and in business.
Given all the noise surrounding the real estate industry right now, and considering the milestone year for his company, Jewgieniew felt like 2025 was the perfect time to formally bring Buffini and Robbins into the Realty ONE Group family, and he said he’s curious to see how things will pan out in the coming year.
Too much noise in the sector
Reflecting on the past year in the real estate industry, Jewgieniew said he wasn’t surprised by all the noise.
“That sound has always been there and it has always been a boogeyman,” he said. “A while ago it was the iBuyers, then it was the NAR settlement, and there are always these unforeseen things, but you can’t get distracted. The noise pulls you away from your signal and it’s dangerous to your mentality, your motivation and your momentum.”
That’s why Jewgieniew said he thinks it’s incredibly important that he and his company stay focused on the Real Estate A Group culture and perfecting the things they know they can do well.
“I think this will allow us to not only win, but be dominant for years to come,” he said. “There is huge momentum at the moment and we have everything it takes to win.”
Curious about the competition
But while Jewgieniew is aware that competition in the fixed-fee brokerage space is increasing, he remains confident in what Realty ONE Group has to offer.
“Bring it!” Jewgieniew said about the increasing competition. “With what we’ve learned and proven over the last 20 years, we’re probably at least a generation ahead of any new 100% commission model that’s just emerging. But we don’t want to be naive, because at one point we were a young company trying to prove our model among these older, legacy, traditional brands. They didn’t take us seriously, and we’re not going to make that mistake and turn a blind eye. We’re going to watch and learn and maybe be inspired.”
According to Jewgieniew, this increasing competition is a good thing for both the industry and his company, as he believes it pushes everyone to push their limits and perform better.
“We are ready for next year,” Jewgieniew said. “We call this our new era for the next twenty years and we want to continue running our business, but on an even larger scale.”
