RCB owners to sell franchise after the first IPL trophy

Lalit Modi, former IPL chairman, has caused new rumors about Royal Challengers who has Bengaluru for sale, only a few months after the team had lifted their first IPL title.

In a recent Instagram post, modes suggested that the owners would finally consider selling the franchise.

“Offers have been refused in the past, but it seems that the owners have finally decided to get it from their balance,” he said.

Modi also hinted at a potential record -breaking price and called RCB a “one -off investment option” with strong fans, solid team and professional management.

Reports Earlier this year, Demono PLC, which owns RCB via United Spirits Ltd., had started discussions with advisers to explore exit options, including a full sale.

Former Australia captain Michael Clarke, who spoke on behalf of Modi, also estimated that the team could reach 2-2.5 billion if it is sold next year.

The popularity of RCB has risen after their first IPL title, and with Virat Kohli that leads the team, the franchise remains one of the most commercially viable in the competition.

Modi predicted that the new appreciation could determine a “floor price” for all IPL teams, so that the status of the competition could be strengthened as one of the fastest growing and most valuable sporting competitions worldwide.
