The Tampa Bay Rays have traded RHP Zack Littell to the Cincinnati Reds in a deal with three teams that also includes the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rays received RHP Brian van Belle and LHP Adam Serwinowski from the Reds and then recorded Serwinowski in a deal that also sent RHP Paul Gervase and catcher Ben Rortvedt to Los Angeles for Catcher Hunter Fedducia.

Littell has been the most reliable starting pitcher in the Rays rotation for several years, while Ben Rortvedt was a solid catch option for a large part of the 2024 season. In the meantime, Gervase seemed to be an emerging option in the bullpen after having cut Triple -A Hitters.

The target of this deal for the rays was Hunter Feduccia, a 28-year-old left-handed battlefanger that was blocked in the Dodgers system. Feduccia is considered a solid defensive catcher struggling with the running game. However, his attacking performance in the small competitions have always been above average and before he was traded, he hit this season .290/.399/.467 with 9 hours more than 333 PA in Triple-A.

With Feduccia and Van Belle who join the rays, the 40-man selection remains full. The rays must make two movements to fill the vacancies on the active schedule by filling Littell and Gervase.

The Handelsdeadline is quickly approaching the deadline of 6 pm and the rays are probably still active in many discussions in which almost every player is involved in the Roster.

How else will the Rays selection be tomorrow?
