The Baltimore Ravens Together with their coaching staff with veterans who have been there and have done it. It starts to show. This week, a moment between the Rookie of the Ravens and DB coach Chuck Pagano That didn’t really make it to the headlines, but when you listened, there was a lot. It was not flashy, not a big speech, only a BTS glimpse that reminds you of what the players want from a coach.

The safety of the ravens Big Starks Chuck Pagano revealed him on Monday at 5 am about something he saw in one of the training films. Most boys would have rolled their eyes or hit the snooze button. However, could not be starks. Instead, he doubled with a message that is being discussed in social. ‘That’s how I want to be coached‘The first round of the Ravens 27th Pick of the NFL concept of 2025 said. But the question is: he embraces the roads of Pagano, or is this a subtle message to HC John Harbaugh?

Pagano is no stranger to earn respect. Not that he doesn’t deserve it. He has been around the block. Former Foal Head coach, a long -term NFL defending brain and someone who is aware of what is needed to run a dressing room of the championship. Everywhere he goes, the players don’t just like him – they trust him. With his player-first mentality, he led the Colts to three consecutive 11-win seasons and developed one of the most solid defenses in the competition. And let’s not forget – the man literally fought cancer in the mid -season and came back to coach. The players don’t forget that. And in Baltimore this mentality goes a long way.

Let’s not take anything away from Harbaugh. He is a super bowl winner, built a Rock-Solid Foundation in Baltimore and he holds it longer than most coaches in the competition. But anything else he is known for? Take a step back and let his coordinators run the show. That is fine for most veterans who already know the exercise. But for a rookie like Starks? The hands-off approach can feel a bit far away. He wants to suck everything up in this phase of his career, preferably from the HC. That means that your coach is in your face at 5 o’clock in terms of Starks, that is where Pagano enters.

This is not the first time that Harbaugh’s “Let the Coordinators Coach” approach has been questioned. Many have thrown among him, but some have spoken (or posted) about wanting a little more structured, more intense and more responsible.

To remind Earl Thomas? All-pro safety landed in Baltimore in 2019, but had a rather rocky stint. He reportedly bumped with teammates and expressed concern about how loose things felt behind the scenes. His departure was not only messy-it pulled eyebrows and asked questions about Harbaugh’s relaxed, coordinating model that does not click well with every player.

Starks’ remark, whether he means it or not, contributes to that story. It felt like: “I see the difference. And I prefer the way of the other man. ‘ And good, the coaching shake-up in Baltimore does not end there.

Gruden and Pagano increase the standards

Jon Gruden Added to the mix as an attacking consultant during OTAs. Just like Pagano, he made his presence feel. Gruden is not exactly a ‘mix in the background’. Indeed, he has been working there with the attack, getting hands-on with QBS and performing film sessions as if it were 2002 again.

Harbaugh himself had to say a lot about his detailed insights. ‘He loves football, he is a great football coach, great football spirit. He studied our team, gave us some insight – players, coaches, arrangements, everything. We didn’t give him the playbook, we didn’t give him a script either. You can only go that far. He studied us. In short, the message was: “If I was a game planning against you on defense, what would I do, how would I attack you?” He didn’t just stop there. He looked at our attacking boys. He had something for every player. Very, very detailed,“He noticed.

If you now put Gruden in line next to Pagano, which is texting at 5 in the morning at 5 o’clock in the morning, you can come up the pattern. They add coaching -personalities that are loud, detailed and ruthless. That brings us back to Harbaugh.

With these voices that come in, you can’t help but wonder – try to add the ravens something that Harbaugh is just not at the table? It is subtle, but the way ravens move, it feels more hands-on, urgent and intense. And players like Starks, they eat it. It is not just about Pagano’s 5 AM texts or the obsession of the Gruden film room. All in all it is about how their presence reforms the culture about Harbaugh – and what it means for him and Baltimore in the future.
