Manchester United loanee Rasmus Hojlund has picked up a new injury, picking up during Napoli’s meeting with Atalanta last weekend.
Hojlund is flourishing at Napoli
Hojlund has enjoyed an upturn in form since leaving United, sealing a season-long move to Napoli in the summer window.
He got off to a fast start in life at Napoli, scoring on his debut against Fiorentina. Hojlund then embarked on a fantastic spell, which was interrupted by an injury that kept him out for a few games.
So far this season, Hojlund has scored four goals and provided one assist in 11 games in Serie A and the Champions League.
Having just returned to action, he slowly got back up to speed. The Dane was included in the starting line-up on Saturday when Napoli defeated Atalanta 3-1. A double from David Neres and a goal from Noa Lang in the 45th minute were all Napoli needed to sink Atalanta at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Hojlund created one of the goals.
However, the United star did not complete the match as he had to leave due to injury.
Hojlund injured
With the hosts firmly in control, Hojlund was withdrawn in the 74th minute due to a suspected hamstring injury.
He retreated to the sidelines with visible discomfort. According to Football ItalyThe positive news is that Hojlund may have left the promotion before the issue got much worse.
Napoli will investigate the issue further to determine the full extent of the injury and how long Hojlund may be out.
Antonio Conte now faces an anxious wait. Romelu Lukaku continues to recover from injury – a situation that prompted the reigning Premier League champions to decisively select Hojlund as his replacement.
When Hojlund was substituted against Atalanta, Lorenzo Lucca came on in his place.
