Miller’s 2024-25 season
After he started his career at the Rangers, Miller became a star at the Vancouver Canucks. He had his best season in 2023-24, because he ended with 37 goals and 66 assists in 81 games, while won 56.3 percent of his faceoffs. He led them in points in the regular season and tied the team leader in points in the late season, while he ended with three goals and nine assists in 13 games.
Last season Miller struggled to score and also missed 10 games with the Canucks when he took leave for personal reasons. He was physically and won 58.6 percent of his faceoffs, but was held up to nine goals and 26 assists in 40 games. The Rangers then acquired him In exchange for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini and a first round pick.

Miller’s role this season

Chris Kreider was held last season to 22 goals while fighting injuries after scoring 52 goals in 2021-22, 36 in 2022-23 and 39 in 2023-24.
The Rangers hope that playing Zibanejad with Miller will help him bounce back and help the team to form a different line to get some pressure from Panarin’s. After Kreider trading in the low seasonNew York also needs Miller to contribute to the Power Play. He has a very good wrist shot and has already proven to be an experienced playmaker in his second stint with the blues shirts. During the 2023-24 season he had 40 power play points (10 goals and 30 assists).
The Rangers need Miller to deliver this season
There will be a lot of pressure on Miller to turn the Rangers, both with his play and leadership, after the team that was investigated in 2024-25. They need him to be healthy and to play for his potential. He was excellent in the 32 games he played with them last season, and they need him to keep playing at that level and to elevate the game of his teammates for the team to have a chance to make the Play -offs this season.
