Rangers boss Rohl: Bajrami injury could be worse than first feared – Football News

Danny Rohl fears Nedim Bajrami’s muscle problems are worse than initially thought as he delivered a quadruple injury update for Rangers ahead of their Europa League clash with Ferencvaros.

Bajrami suffered an injury as Rangers beat Kilmarnock 3-0 on Saturday, although it was initially thought the problem would not be too worrying.

However, Rangers boss Rohl stated that a follow-up scan was not too promising and the Albanian international will now undergo a further check to determine the extent of the problem.

“Nedim is not that good for us, and that is difficult,” Rohl said as Rangers prepared to face the Hungarian team after taking just one point from five games in Europe’s secondary competition this season.

“We thought after the game that it wasn’t too serious, but it seems more serious now. At the moment we have a few more injuries, which doesn’t help, but we still have a good team together.”

“It looks like a muscle injury for Nedim. He didn’t feel that bad, but the scan wasn’t positive, so now we have to wait again and check it. It will be week to week, but hopefully it won’t be long.”

“If you add up these injuries, it’s a lot of players who have had problems. We’ve had a lot of matches and international players have traveled a lot. But we will make it and find solutions.”

Rohl also confirmed that Joe Rothwell has not traveled to Hungary, while Lyall Cameron is part of the party, but there is considerable doubt about this.

Dujon Sterling has also made the trip as he looks to make his first appearance since April.

“Joe is not with us, Lyall is with us, but there is a big question mark over him – we have to make an assessment on him,” Rohl added.

“Dujon is back in the selection, which is a good signal.”
