Ram’s medium-sized pick-up comes here- here is what we know

In 2011, Ram The Dakota stopped, his medium -sized truck participant. The truck was a decent offer. First, it dragged better than competitors thanks to the available V8 engine. It also had some comfortable seats and tons of interior space.

Unfortunately it was also quite pricey – a costs that was difficult to justify with more affordable options, such as the tacoma. Since then, the brand has been noticeably absent in the medium -sized segment. However, that will all change quickly, with a new medium-sized Ram pick-up that comes on the market somewhere in 2027.

To provide the most accurate and up-to-date information, this article uses data from RAM, as well as various authoritative sources.

What to expect from the new medium -sized ram

We don’t have to spy on prototypes yet, and to start up, RAM has not announced a name for the thing (at least publicly). All this should come before the launch of the truck 2027. For now, Dakota feels like a safe gamble given the fame of the name with American buyers. The design is a mystery in the same way. However, we can draw some conclusions from the 1500, the next largest truck in the brand.

Expect, just like the 1500, a large grid with daring “ram” artilt both on and on the tailgate. It is unlikely that the truck will break any fungi, and it is possible that the truck will look very similar to a shrinking 1500. Expect this to be the case, with the latest technology of the brand, including Gauge Cluster and Central screens. We hope that the automaker retains the level of physical controls in the 1500, or expand on them. Also expect the interior to increase a level in accordance with Trim. Ram has carved a bit of a niche when building a number of serious luxurious interior in its top finishes, and this luxury-forward approach can be something that we see in a potential Dakota tungsten or something similar.

What is going under the hood?

Regarding technical details, things are a bit thin again. Rumors are spread over the platform of the truck, and whether it will be a Unibody construction based on the STLA-Grote Platform or a body-on-frame setup borrowed from elsewhere in the RAM/Stellantis portfolio. We also expect at least a crew cabin, but given that competitors offer a few cabin configurations, it is possible that RAM can follow.

We hope for a Howling Hemi V8

Powtrains are another question mark, but a few options will probably appear. Firstly, we expect a basic engine, probably the omnipresent four -cylinder from Stellantis and an upper trimm engine with more power and larger towing capacities. Stellantis’ Hurricane Turbo-Inline-Six feels like the most likely candidate, but we also keep a hemi in the line, if that engine goes back in wider production applications. It has already been re -introduced in the 1500. Also expect a few Off-road-oriented options In addition to the aforementioned decorations, as is offered in the 1500.

RAM has to do work in a busy segment

Whatever the truck may be, it will have cut his work for it. The medium -sized truck segment has changed a lot in the last sixteen years (yes, so long ago was 2011). However, Ram has a few ways in which it can benefit from trucks such as the tacoma and colorado. Firstly, both have a fairly limited back seat space – something that RAM may give priority to see if it chooses to go for the truck with a larger platform. Competitors such as the Tacoma have also introduced hybrid options, and we expect RAM to consider at least the option, although the hybrid line -up of Stellantis is currently pretty slim.

For now you can expect a medium-sized truck that roughly the size and shape of something like the Chevrolet Colorado, and probably a truck with a series of powertrain options with the hurricane of Stellantis Inline-Six and another basic engine, probably a four-cylinder. The truck will also have a wide range of decorations to keep track of the options of competitors when it is shown somewhere in 2027 for the first time.
