Former UFC hunters Hector Lombard and Cheick Kongo exchanged their mixed martial arts (MMA) gloves to compete in a hilarious cushion fighting championship on Friday evening (August 1, 2025) from the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in FLORIDA.
No, you didn’t read that wrong. Lombard and Congo really went toe to toe in a bona fide pillow fight live on ESPN8: The Ocho on Friday evening. The obscure event was presented by Hush and showed the two former UFC opportunities that fought in the main event.
Lombard, 47, was last seen in Gamebed Bareknuckle MMA 6 in November 2023 and eventually achieved a TKO victory on Chris Sarro. Congo, who turned 50 earlier this year, did not participate in a fight since the loss of decision for Ryan Bader in a Bellator MMA heavyweight title fight in 2022. The matchup on Friday evening was a big opportunity for Lombard and Congo to earn a little extra spotlight on the tail end of their care.
