Ramos greets Clasico Rival Busquets after pension announcement – Football News

Sergio Ramos labeled Sergio Busquets “one of the brightest midfielders” with which he played after the pension announcement of the Spanish Maestro.

Busquets revealed on Friday that he will hang his boots at the end of the current MLS campaign of Inter Miami, ending his great career next to old Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba.

Ramos and Busquets often stood together in exciting El Clasico meetings, in which the midfielder plays more often in the luminaire than any other player (48).

The former Barca man won nine Laliga titles and three champion competitions with the Blaugrana, but he also enjoyed good success alongside Ramos with the Spanish national team.

Busquets, which made the second best performances for Spain (143), won the World Cup 2010 with Ramos before he also triumphed during the European Championships 2012.

“Busi, you are the definition of how you can be exceptional without stopping an ordinary man,” said Ramos in an Instagram post.

“A rival usually, a teammate, on many other occasions, you have always been noticed for your stylish football, vision and quality, as well as for your modest and authentic way of being.

“Football loses one of the smartest midfielders I played with, but you leave with the recognition and gratitude of all those who have shared time with you and all those who love this sport.

“Thank you for being a great player, a great teammate and a great friend. I wish you the best in your new chapter.”
