Thai striking sensation Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon scripted a signature performance as he knocked out Russian standout Abdulla Dayakaev in the second round of the final. ONE Fight Night 39 main event on Friday, January 23 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 22-year-old, who trains at the Superbon Training Camp, revealed his pre-fight game plan specifically focused on body attacks, having previously identified a glaring hole in the Dagestan-born fighter’s armour. That win also earned him a $50,000 performance bonus.

“I’m very happy, and it’s such a huge relief that I can win and achieve everything I promised today. The plans I had planned also worked, so I’m very happy,” said Rambolek.

The Thai revealed that through extensive preparation he identified body shots as an unused weakness in Dayakaev’s defensive game. Rambolek expressed pride in discovering and executing a finishing strategy that previous opponents were unable to successfully implement.

“I said I saw his weakness, and the fans saw it on the ring, and I was able to show that his weakness was the body shot, because I was studying his fight and I didn’t see anyone. [who] could have thrown the body shot against him earlier. Maybe it’s not the best knockout, but it’s the knockout I’m most proud of,” Rambolek explained.

Dayakaev entered the bout with six finishes in nine promotional appearances, establishing himself as one of bantamweight Muay Thai’s most dangerous knockout artists. The Russian’s aggressive boxing style and world-class training under the watchful eye of Mehdi Zatout presented a formidable challenge for the Thai competitor.

“I’m ready when the opportunity comes. I think it’s time. I already ran into him today and I already said hello to him. I told him I wanted to fight him, and yes, I think it would be entertaining if I fought him,” Rambolek said.
