– A RAM 1500 Ecodiesel Class Action law case has been approved by a federal court after more than five years before the court.
The RAM Ecodiesel -right case includes the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) coolers that can cause truck fires.
The RAM 1500 Class Action -Rechtszaak includes:
“All persons who bought or rented a 2014-2019 model year in the United States, Dodge Ram 1500 Ecodiesel Truck made between 12 June 2013 and 23 October 2019.”
Chrysler agreed to arrange the Class Action to put an end to the expensive court cases, but denies all claims of liability and misconduct.
FCA has always claimed that a recall from October 2019 has fully repaired the trucks for free.
The Class Action right was brought in August 2020 and later consolidated with three RAM 1500 Ecodiesel Class promotions in January 2021. Some claims were rejected while the court allowed others to continue.
According to the Class Action, Fiat Chrysler knew that in 2014 in 2014 knew that the EGR coolers were defective, but instead of repairing the trucks before they were sold, Chrysler would have covered the defects to sell the trucks, although it knew they were defective and would break down.
The Class Action is another example of a lawsuit that was not filed until after the car maker has announced a recall to repair the vehicles for free.
RAM 1500 Ecodiesel Legal
RAM 1500 Ecodiesel Truck customers must read the settlement closely because they may not help them.
RAM 1500 Ecodiesel Court of Law Guarantee Extension
Chrysler has agreed to provide a five-year warranty extension to cover the costs to repair a failed EGR cooler for five years from the date on which the old cooler was replaced by a new non-defective cooler under the recall of October 2019.
Keep in mind that the EGR coolers were probably repaired or replaced in 2019 or shortly thereafter.
If the five-year-old EGR Cooler warranty extension period has not ended for a customer and the new replacement cooler has failed, a RAM 1500 customer can bring its truck to a dealer for a free repair.
RAM 1500 Ecodiesel Refunding program
Chrysler offered reimbursements when the RAM started 1500 Ecodiesel return to October 2019. However, the settlement says that a customer can be repaid “for the out-of-pocket tow truck, rental car and coolant costs that relate to a failed EGR cooler.”
RAM 1500 Ecodiesel Truck Fire
A customer can submit a claim to receive $ 3,000 if a RAM 1500 Ecodiesel truck has implemented a fire caused by a failed EGR cooler.
The 26 claimants who have brought the lawsuit each receive $ 5,000, and the lawyers who represent the claimants receive $ 2,450,000.
The judge must still give the final approval to the RAM 1500 Ecodiesel Class Action right case. The last hearing of honesty will be held on March 17, 2026.
The RAM 1500 Ecodiesel Class Action law was brought to the American court for the eastern district of Michigan: Bradley Crawford, et al., V. FCA US, LLCCase No. 2: 20 CV-1234.
