Master Harness Racing Trainer Gary Hall SNR has an enviable record of producing pacers that is first produced in excellent condition, and he will hope for a powerful version of Raklou (Dear Lou) In the 7 -23,000 7G pace over 2130m in Gloucester Park on Friday evening.
Raklou, a four-year-old New Zealand mare of Boom Sire Sweet Lou, will make her Australian debut when she starts with the favorable Nr. 2-barrier, with Gary Hall JNR in the Sulky.
Raklou has not raced since the most impressive wins on the Central Southland Raceway in Nieuw -Zeeland on October 31 last year, and she was not produced in recent tests.
However, she gave a sample of her class when she disputed a test of 2185m in Pinjarra on 7 May of this year when she won 46 meters, 1.57.9 after the last 400m sections of 28.7 sec., 28sec. and 29.3sec.
Her 16 New Zealand starts have resulted in four wins and five placements, and she was not extensive to easily win at her last outing when she scored a three-length victory in 2400 m eleven months ago.
She started from barrier six and raced three wide during the first 450m before she raced in the one-out, one-back position in the beginning in the last circuit and took the lead in the home.
Raklou showed significant power as a two -year -old when she won three times, including a group 3 classic over 1700 meters in Ashburton in June 2023.
She is expected to dominate the bet on Friday evening’s event that is limited to mares, and her most important rivals are probably Soho Vesper Lind (Barrier Six), Nase Vira (outside the back line), Sweet Vivienne (nine) and Sugar Delight (five).
