Firstly, the head coach, Rahul Dravid, left the franchise after just a year in the track. In particular, he joined the team after he had led India to the T20 World Cup 2024 Triumph, and the expectations were high from him, but the Rajasthan Royals finished in ninth place on the point table with only four wins in 14 games.

Rajasthan Royals tried to continue their relationship with Rahul Dravid after he had removed him as a head coach and offered him a wider strategic role, but he chose not to accept it.

Then the Rajasthan Royals Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jake Lush McCrum weighed off the franchise. He joined Rajasthan Royals (RR) in November 2017 as general director, and after having spent some time at the franchise, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in July 2019, before he became Chief Executive Officer in July 2021.

And all this happened in the midst of the reports that suggest that the Kerala Wicketkeeper-Batsman and skipper of the team, Sanju Samson, have requested his release of the franchise because of a dispute.

Sorct Yagnik stopped Rajasthan Royals

On Saturday, September 27, a report from Sportstar confirmed the departure of Dishant Yagnik, one of the longest serving coaches of the Rajasthan Royals. He joined the team as the field coach in 2018, and during his long stint he worked extensively with the Indian and foreign players.

In the midst of much departure, Batcoach Vikram Ratour and bowling coach Shane Bond will probably stay in Rajasthan Royals, according to the same report.

Sanju Samson in action in the Asia Cup final

The RR and Kerala-superster Sanju Samson is the first choice of Wicketkeeper-Batsman for India in the Asia Cup 2025 and has beaten in the middle order. So far he has registered scores of 56, 13 and 39 and would make contributions in the final against Pakistan.

Prior to the match, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan claimed that playing an intense match against Sri Lanka who was going to the super would help India in the top collision against arch-rival Pakistan.

“My opinion is that the tight match against Sri Lanka, who eventually won in the super, is good for India. Sometimes when you play a very good cricket, you sometimes get a bit weak. You think everything happens perfectly, you think you can’t do, it’s a bit that it is not to do that the Indian team is not.

“So India is now suddenly feeling that every team can play well on a certain day, just like Sri Lanka on Friday. I think Sri Lanka was the number 2 team in the competition stages. And they showed it here.
