“Move Fast and Break Things” graduated from a startup-mantra to an industrial gospel. We have been told to send and ask questions later, to launch minimal viable products and to dig it for an indefinite period of time. But in the race to be first, we risk forgetting what it means to be good. What if the ruthless pursuit of ‘now’ with higher reputation -has been successful than we realize?
I am Jack, the founder of Naughtyduk ©A design studio and digital consultancy based in Manchester, VK. We are the creative and technical engine for some of the largest brands in entertainment, an industry where performance is non-negotiable. Our approach is beautiful to the prevailing wisdom. We believe in quality and precision, not as luxury, but as fundamental principles for achieving better results.
This is not slow or pedantic. It’s intentional.
A story as old as time
I have previously worked for many other companies. Contract, industry, agency, you name it at the past 17 years, I have seen the decisions that are made, many of them mistakes, from Junior level to senior leadership. I would often wonder: ‘This is how it is has are?’.
Companies I worked for would cut corners everywhere, and I do not mean somewhat subdivisor to maintain the margin, I mean, an everlasting ethos of bad performance was not only accepted, but cultivated by indifference and a lack of accountability.
Motivated by this behavior, I wanted to start something with integrity, a little more human, something where value is determined by quality delivered, not only cash-sexheared.

I founded Naughtyduk © at the beginning of 2024 with a simple mission: creating digital experiences that are not only functional, but also beautiful and performance, with the right architecture and cohesion about all contact points.
Although I am introverted by nature, and generally more interested in craftsmanship than networking – I was lucky to build partnerships with some of the largest companies and brands in the world.
The projects we are working on are usually for brands with a considerable audience, which require a holistic approach to design and development. We are especially proud of our work in the entertainment sector, of which we recently decided that we were a logical niche for us.

In the entertainment space, a digital contact point is more than just a website or an app, it is an access gate to an experience. It has to deal with crushing traffic peaks for ticket or merchandise drops, transfer the energy of an event (usually with very visual, large contents formats such as video/audio), being just as performance on mobile as on desktop and flawlessly under pressure.
In this context, creativity without a clear goal is simply noise. A beautiful design that collapses under load is not just a failure; It is a broken promise to thousands of fans. That is why we are laser -oriented on creativity and performance are free forces, instead of opponents.

With goal design is to understand that every choice must be anchored in the strategy. It means that we don’t just ask: “What does it look like?” But “what is it for?” A crucial part of our Ethos includes avoiding pitfalls in the industry.
I don’t know how hard this should be for people to hear me, but you never have to build a platform first.

There is the right way and 17 wrong ways to do everything.
That is why we do not build on performance by treating speed, stability and scalability as core functions. These are architecture systems that are just as resilient as they are beautiful. Working with the right technical pile on every project is important. The user experience is only as good as the infrastructure that supports it.
That said, experience design is an incredibly important vessel, and at the front there are libraries such as GSAP, Lenis and of course Webgl/Three.js. In recent years we have increased the number of these functions during our work, luckily to the delight.
liquid
We recently launched a library that you might want to try to call liquidAn attempt to bring Apple’s new aesthetics to liquid glass to the web. It is a lot harder in the browser, and there are still a few things to train in beta, but it is now available on Github and of course it is open source.
particle globe
In addition to Liquidgl, we have recently been launched particle globeA library for creating truly unique particle effects in the browser, complete with 6 core demos and support for all media formats, including 3D models, video, audio, images and text. Available on Github and free for personal use.
glitchgl
Following particles GL glitchglA library for making pixelation, CRT and Glitch effects in the browser. With more than 30 adapted properties and a configurable global interaction system, which can be applied to multiple elements. Also available on Github and free for personal use.

Telectech
At Naughtyduk © we do not hunt fast victories. With the Teletech team – one of the largest techno edges in the world – instead of solutions for White Label, we have invested for years in building a mutual understanding of what success looks like. This was not efficient due to traditional statistics, but it built up a symbiotic partnership that was later more fertile.
The result is a series of market-specific solutions that consistently deliver: web, game development, mobile app and e-commerce; All made possible because we know the culture and the owners, not just the assignment. That is why I would encourage other creatives to niche in an industry they understand, and to see their customers as partners instead of goals – You may think this cynicism is rare, but I can assure you.
Quality relationships take time, but they are the basis for quality work.
Uncertainty
Sometimes the best choices you make on a project are those that nobody sees.
For Offlimits Festival, the first open format Music Festival of the VAE with Ed Sheeran, Kaiser Chiefs, Onepublic and more was one of the most critical aspects the possibility of serving large content formats per implementation, on a scale.
Although WebFlow was the right platform for the core requirements, we have decided to refrain from various functions of web flow, including their forms Setup and asset treatment. We have chosen to use Cloudflare R2 to serve videos and audio, giving us a detailed check on the policy and delivery of caching. One of the many hidden changes that were invisible to users, but crucial for performance. Taking the time for the right decisions, even boring, is some of the experiences that deliver those who only look nice.
Primal â„¢
Primal â„¢ started as an example package library aimed at rough high quality sounds. When they wanted to expand to AudioBlug -Ins, we spent eighteen months developing adapted audio bobbin and an extensive ecosystem completely re -architecture because we Extensive solutions create lasting value.
The result is something that we are particularly proud of, with automatic account creation, logging in, making a subscription and generating licenses that take place from a single click. This may sound simple on the surface, but the required months of careful planning and development on Juce/C ++, Stripe, Clerk, React, Cloudflare and Mailchimp.

The integrated pipeline
Our philosophy of Quality about speed Only works if your team is structured to support it. Common approaches separate concerns such as design and development. In large teams this is seen as somewhat essential, a project moves along a conveyor belt, distributed from one silo to another.
This is understandable, but wrong. Blooat and bureaucracy are where the view is diluted and potentially dies. For this reason, at Naughtyduk © we are insisting on handling the entire creative pipeline.
With a holistic approach you can make deeply connected digital ecosystems.
When the same team that designs the brand identity, also builds the mobile app and the backend architectt, you will get a level of coherence that otherwise not possible. This leads to better results: lower operational costs for our customers, less patchwork for us, higher conversion rates and a superior customer experience that feels seamless and deliberately.
Last thoughts
Choosing craft above hurry is not indulgence, it is a strategic decision that we make every day.
It is not that we are perfect, we are not. It is that we would rather strive for perfection and miss than not even trying to settle for ‘good enough’. In a digital landscape saturated with forgetable experiences, perfectionism is that cuts through the noise.
