Qatar has confirmed his interest in organizing the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Olympic Committee of the Land (QOC) confirmed on Tuesday that it was in “ongoing discussions” with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) about organizing the competitions.

“This movement does not underline the state of Qatar’s -repellent dedication to support the Olympic and Paralympic movements and its sharp interest in playing an active role in the progress of global sport,” said a QOC statement.
Organizing a summer games in the burning heat of the East may require a relocation of the traditional end of the event. The World Cup 2022 was played in November and December instead of June and July.
Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al Thani, president of the QOC and chairman of the Bid Committee, said: “We currently have 95% of the required sports infrastructure to organize the competitions, and we have an extensive national plan to guarantee 100% willingness of all facilities.
“This plan is rooted in a long -term vision that is aimed at building a social, economic and ecologically sustainable legacy.
The new IOC president, Kirsty Coventry, said last month that her organization would revise the process for determining game hosts.
