UFC legend Mark Coleman believes he can do everything.
In the course of the years, loved ones by MMA fans Wijd and Zijd, has had the double UFC touring champion have had quite a part of demons and close calls. In 2020, ‘The Hammer’ revealed that he underwent surgery after a heart attack. Four years later he almost lost his life after he bravely pulled his parents out of their burning house in Toledo, Ohio.
But perhaps one of his biggest struggles with alcohol was.
Nowadays Coleman is sober and life lives fully, but he does not shy away from his vuited past. If there is something, he hugs it completely. During a recent interview with MMA FightingThe very first heavyweight champion of the UFC offered some insight into its austerity and encouraged everyone who struggled with alcoholism to put the bottle down and start fighting for their own lives.
“You have to come in there,” said Coleman. “You have to get help. And you have to do it now, because tomorrow may not come. Put the bottle down. Get up from the couch. Go in some exercises. But first get sober.”
“I can do anything if I just stay sober. Believe me, it’s the most difficult fight of my life.”

Coleman officially retired when he was 48 years old. Before that he won a whole series of former combat legends such as Gary Goodridge, Don Frye, Dan Severn and Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua. Along the way he etched his name in the history books and earned a place in the UFC Hall of Fame in 2008.

In addition to his legacy such as the inaugural heavyweight title holder of the UFC, ‘The Hammer’ still has the record for the fastest knockout in Pride History, and is one of only two hunters who won tournaments in both Pride and the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
