PSV fans ease the pain for Liverpool with brutal chanting as Arne Slot’s reign reaches a new low

PSV Eindhoven fans will rarely have had such a pleasant European away day as they were treated to on Wednesday evening.

The Eredivisie champions came to Anfield to take on an out-of-control Liverpool side and deepened the gloom for Arne Slot’s team by romping to a 4-1 win, which has massively boosted their chances of progressing to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

From a crazy handball from Virgil van Dijk to give away an early penalty, to Milos Kerkez being caught for Guus Til’s goal, the Reds once again delivered a performance riddled with glaring errors that are out of character for a club currently holding the Premier League trophy.

PSV fans taunt Liverpool with ironic chants

On the way to Xjournalist Lewis Steele recorded a chant from the traveling PSV supporters, showing how much they were enjoying their trip to Merseyside as they rubbed shoulders with their hosts.

He posted: “‘Always look at the positive side of life,’ the PSV fans sing. It’s difficult to find many positive things about Arne Slot and Liverpool, I dare say.”

Cheerfulness for PSV, but even more Anfield shame for Liverpool

First of all, we must thank Peter Bosz’s side for their performance as they ruthlessly punished a litany of mistakes from a Liverpool team that has become a pale shadow of what they were just seven months ago.
