Cricket South Africa (CSA) is pleased to name the Proteas Women Squad that will represent our proud nation at the upcoming ICC Wereldworlt World Cup 2025, which takes place from September 30 – November 2 in India.
The team of 15 players will be leader by Laura Wolvaarardt and includes the experienced quartet of Chloé Tryon, Marizanne Kapp, Ayabonga Khaka and Suné Luus.
The coarse will only be rigorous due to the inclusion or explosive battery Tazmin British, Alng Witte All-Ronders Nadine de Registrar, Anneke Bosch, Anneries of Derksen and Nonduu Shangse.
In the Wicketkeeping department, Sinalo Jafta will collaborate with the 17-year-old and domestic cricket teammate Karabo Meso, who participates in her first senior world cup after participating in two ICC U19 World Cup T20 World Cups in 2023 and 2025.
In the bowling ranks, Link-Arm Spinner Non-Kululeko Mlaba leads the spin attack while Masabata Klaas and Tumi Sekhukhune offer various seam options.
Young all -rounder Miané Smit has been named the traveling reserve, a role she played during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup last year.
The Proteas women get their tournament going with a draw against England on 3 October, followed by encounters against Nieuw -Zeeland, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan before he concludes the competition phase with a match against Australia on October 25.
In anticipation of the global showpiece, South Africa will travel on Pakistan on 16, 19 and 22 September in Lahore on 16, 19 and 22 September on Pakistan.
Proteas Women’s head coach Mandla Mashimbyi noted: “What a journey it was. From the moment I came to this team, and even before my time when the team went through the qualification phase, it was all about working at this moment. We can look back on the amount of preparation we did and know that we have done our best.
“I am happy for all players and the management who will go to India on that plane, but I am even more excited to see what they can achieve as a group together. We believe that we have the team of players who can go outside and deliver the world stage. Now it is all about wearing that faith with us every step of the road, along with the support of the whole nation.”
CSA Convenor of Selectors, Clinton du Preez, said: “The composition of the team is supported by the consistent selection process that was complied with during the recent ICC Women’s Championship Cycle, while taking into account the subcontinent circumstances and the different characteristics of the group that is needed for a successful tournament of this nature.”
