Profitable Trifecta Betting Strategy for Remsen Bets 2025

A dozen talented 2-year-olds competed in the $250,000, Grade 2 on Saturday Remsen insert at Aqueduct, an important stop on the road to the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve.

The Remsen takes place over 1 1/8 miles around two turns, making it the longest Kentucky Derby qualifier open to 2-year-olds. It is a tough test of endurance that requires playing to the player’s strengths #2 Paladin And #6 Courting.

Paladin showed serious talent when he debuted in a special weight one mile, one turn at Aqueduct. After maintaining almost a brisk pace, he accelerated his final quarter-mile in :24.14 (and his final eighth of a mile in a tremendous:11.94) to finish second, a head ahead of Remsen rival. #9 Apostate. However, Renegade interfered with Paladin in the final steps, so the stewards disqualified Renegade and awarded Paladin the win.

With this strong debut under his belt, Paladin is in line to improve in the Remsen, especially if he goes 1 1/8 miles. His pedigree shows he will enjoy the longer distances, and red-hot jockey Flavien Prat will keep the horse.

Courting also broke his maiden in a one-mile, one-turn special weight at Aqueduct. The son of two-time Horse of the Year Curlin led all the way to win by 2.5 lengths, completing his final quarter mile in an excellent:23.95.

Courting’s mother is Cavorting, a three-time class 1 winner. The crossing of Curlin and Cavorting previously produced Clairiere, a four-time Grade 1 winner who raced 1 1/16 miles. Everything about Courting’s pedigree and race record suggests he will improve significantly as he attempts 1 1/8 miles in the Remsen.

We prefer the Paladin and Courting odds over the more talented ones #11 Talk. Talkin ran well on the Road to the Kentucky Derby in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes, coming off the pace and finishing second behind runaway winner Napoleon Solo. But a breakneck pace played to Talkin’s strengths, and he’s unlikely to get a similarly favorable lineup in the Remsen.

Our best recommendation for betting on the Remsen is to play Paladin and Courting on top of a trifecta ticket and add Renegade and Talkin for second and third place. A ticket with a base bet of €1 can be played for €12, but if you want to spend more in search of a higher payout, a base bet of €3 (for a total amount of €36) is an attractive option.
