Did everyone enjoy that little two -week break? Because Tommy Fleetwood has successfully captured his very first PGA Tour victory on the Tour Championship, Golf in the United States has been eliminated in recent weeks, while the opening of the football season has dominated the sports landscape. But Golf is back for a Tweener season, if you want, and at the end of the month we of course also have the Ryder Cup in Bethpage Black in New York.
Welcome to the FedEx Cup Fall. From this week in Napa, California, the ProCore Championship is the first of seven tournaments between now and mid -November to determine another 30 players who will hold their tour cards for the coming season 2026. The Top 70 in the FedEx Cup classification that went to the play -offs last month are already qualified for the 2026 campaign. Those who are able to get to the top 100 in FedExCup points during this fall fluctuation will also secure the Tour status for the 2026 season.
The North Course in Silverado Country Club in NAPA is the location for this week’s event, and talked about the Ryder Cup, every member of the American team is in the field this week except Xander Schauffele and Bryson Deschambeau. Silverado is a short course in just over 7,100 meters and plays to a par 72. The winning score proposition bet in the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook is 266.5, which means 21.5 under par. The fairways are narrow and with trees, but the raw one is short and not very punishment. Of course we are in North California and the combination of Bentgrass and Poa Annua Greens is not unusual in these parts.
I like the efficiency of the tee at Silverado than I drive, but a small length doesn’t hurt either. I looked at the strokes obtained: won from the T -shirt and good drives. Approach is the key as it is always. Players will have to negotiate many doglegs this week, so Ball-Triking will be very important. Perhaps the most important thing, however, is the game of 100-150 meters and also clambering. And then of course I looked at obtained strokes: putting on a mix of Bentgrass and Poa Annua.
2025 Procore Championship ODDS: US Ryder Cup Team Dominates Favorites

Kevin Cunningham
Only three correlated courses for me this week and that is TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas. Similar length, fairways lined with trees, very non-penal rough and emphasis on clambering. Pebble Beach, which shares the characteristics of North California and also Poa Annua Greens – and again, the emphasis on clambering. Finally, Detroit Golf Club, where they play the Rocket Classic. Driving efficiency, scrambling and wedge games from 100-150 are a common basis with Silverado here.
Maverick McNealy (29-1)
You have to wonder if missing the Ryder Cup team will let him shoot for something extra this week. He really plays the best wave of his career for the past year and ended here in Napa and Pebble Beach, both in 2021. He also has top 10 finishes at both TPC Summerlin and in Detroit. McNealy grew up on Pebble Beach and is very familiar with the area and the golf course and is one of the best putters in the field.
JJ Spaun (29-1)
I am not sure what is happening in the head of JJ Spaun, from the very best season ever of his career and now on the way to play in his very first Ryder Cup, but I like him as a very good fit for this golf course. He is very efficient of the T -shirt, a great ball attack, and grew up in South California, he is also very familiar with these well surfaces. It is as high as 11th and ninth here in Napa, top 10 in Summerlin and in Detroit, and has been as high as 16th on Pebble Beach.
Davis Thompson (50-1)
This was one of the first players to jump this week of the page of the page, because he is such a good driver of the golf ball and his wig play of 100-150 Yards is a strong suit. That has also translated well into the correlated courses. In addition to a top 10 finish here in NAPA in 2022, he finished fifth on TPC Summerlin in 2024 and became second in Detroit that same year.

Andrew Putnam (200-1)
Now we come to a few triple figures. Putnam is another west coast that grew up in Washington, went to school in South California and currently lives in the Phoenix region. He has finished four times with Top-20 on TPC Summerlin. He has been as high as sixth on Pebble Beach and just earlier this summer he finished eighth at the Rocket Classic in Detroit. Putnam is very efficient of the T -shirt and is excellent in approach, especially from 100 meters. Just like McNealy, Putnam also has an elite short game.
Taylor Montgomery (225-1)
The resident of Las Vegas has also shown that he can play very well in nearby California. One of the best putters in the game, Montgomery finished third in NAPA in 2022. In the last 24 rounds he is in 17th place in this area for Birdies or better won and is second for strokes obtained on the par 5s. If this week’s work can match its short game carbonades, this Longshot will compete again.
