The Ryder Cup 2025 takes place in the world -famous Bethpage Black Course, and for the tournament we look at some performance data on the course. Before we discuss the statistics (provided by the performance of Shot Scope’s Performance Tracking users), this is for those who are not familiar with the course one of the best rated courses of the game year after year.
The black track at Bethpage also comes with a warning for golfers reading:
“Warning. The black track is an extremely difficult course that we only recommend for very skilled golfers”.
Exactly what you have to read before you go to the first tee!
Here are the five interesting things you need to know before the Ryder Cup Bethpage visits:
The 7th Hole can make or break your score

According to the data, the 7th Hole experiences the biggest fluctuations in scoring based on TEE record results. In the wording of Layman, depending on where your T -shirt is going, you can get the chance to make Birdie or you can look at a bogey, double or worse.
7th hole tee shot stats
| T -piece shot result | Left Miss | Fairway | Madam |
| Score to par | +1.2 | -0.3 | +1.5 |
For the amateur golfer, the 7th is a long par 5 (professional events can play this as par 4) with Sandy Scrblland to the right and thick rough to the left – missing the fairway makes it almost impossible to go in two for the green. If you are in the Sandy ScrabLland, you can almost guarantee that you will drop strokes. Even if you avoid the sand, but are too far to the right, you will still be blocked from a direct line to the green. Finding the short stuff is essential if you want to score on this hole.
Easy for the amateur, difficult for the pros

The par 3 third hole for an amateur golf player usually plays in the region of 146 meters and players have about a 2 in 3 chance to find the dance floor. For the professional golfer, however, things are somewhat more difficult! The TEE-Box is moved 90 meters back, making it an eye-watery 232-yard par 3 with little space at the back of the green and bunkers who swallow shots that come to the well surface shy. If we had the amateur playing from this Tee box, their chances of touching the green plums from about 2 in 3 to almost 1 in 50 can be hit!
The most difficult hole for Shot Scope users is the 5th gap
Another tricky tee-shot in the opening of nine holes is the 5th hole, a 478-yard par 4. This hole is in favor of a blur, but beware, the farther you go, the greater the Carry to cover even more Sandy Scraband.
Just like the 7th hole -the Tee -shot is one of the most important shots here, and players must be brave because a t -shot that misses on the left will make a shot in the green almost impossible. Those who notice that they miss the fairway usually play the hole 1.6 stroke on par. Those who go well, 1 battle above par.
So the only thing you have to do is hit a beautiful baby flash around 285 meters through the air to cover the bushes and have a good line – simple. With the challenge of the tee -shot that most players turns out, it is no surprise that for every 100 attempts to touch the green in regulations, only 7 are successful. Yes, 7 out of 100!
The Back 9 is the harder of the two nines – playing 0.7 strokes harder
When we compare the back nine with the front nine, we discover that the 0.7 strokes plays harder (almost a blow) than the front nine – no huge difference, but it is statistically more difficult. Players usually touch a fewer fairways on the back and two fewer greens, which means that they are obliged to get up and down. A more difficult back nine can only be a good thing for spectators, right?
If you turn one green all day, make it 11th

When missing the Green, Shot Scope users, the 11th Hole finds the most difficult to go up and down. Why? Well, it is one of the more wavy well surfaces on the track, with bunkers that strive around the sides and most of the front part of the green. Those who miss the Green Long will be met with a difficult up and down attempt, with the green running away from them from the front to back, and a false front ready to punish everyone with a bad touch.
The countdown is on September 26 when the Ryder Cup 2025 starts.
What do you think you would take on the challenge that Bethpage Black is? And what do you think the winning score will be?
