— The Warriors are 8-6-2 all-time against Brown in a streak dating back to 1985. The Bears won last year’s meeting 5-1 at Lawler Arena on Jan. 21. Recent matchups have often been lopsided, with Brown posting 5-1 and 6-2 wins in 2025 and 2023, respectively, while the Warriors countered with 5-1 (2024) and 7-1 (2022) victories.

— Merrimack hasn’t lost at Meehan Auditorium since Jan. 20, 2004. The Warriors fell 6-2 that night, with Tim Reidy scoring both goals for Merrimack and Casey Guenther take the loss into account.

The last time the Warriors visited Meehan Auditorium, they took a 3-0 lead in the first period on goals from Ethan Bono, Ty DaneaultAnd Alex Jefferieswhile Zacharias Borgiel turned aside 20 shots.

— Offensively, Brown does have some weapons. The Bears lean heavily on Brian Nicholas, Ryan St. Louis, Ivan ZadvernyukAnd Ben Poitras. The same goes for the back, where Alex Pineau leads the team with almost 26 minutes per game. Junior Ethan Mistry is another commonly used defender, in addition to a freshman Matthew Desire.

— The Bears leaned more on goal Tyler Shea (3.25 GAA, 0.909 save percentage) than Denver transfer Freddie Halyk.

The loss of Lawton Zacher to the northeast has clearly stung. After allowing 2.7 goals per game last season, Brown is at 3.8 this year, with the defensive cracks especially apparent of late. Through the current six games, the Bears have surrendered 30 goals – an even number of five per game.
