The FACT-Finding team of the NDA MPS examines the Karur Stampede, which claimed 41 lives during the public rally of Tamil actor and TVK Chief VijayHas blamed the tragedy for “complete administrative failure and mismanagement”. The team concluded that the incident could be completely prevented and caused by “gross negligence” of the local authorities.

Exclusive details that are accessible by India today, reveal that the report of the MPs sketches a grim picture of chaos and poor crowd management during the event, which attracted an estimated 30,000 people to a location that were designed to house only 2,000 to 3,000.

According to the findings, the crowd already started to gather at 9 am, although the arrival of Vijay was planned for the afternoon – but he only reached the location around 7 pm.

Allegedly the rush broke out then Vijay climbed on top of his campaign bus to appeal to the waiting crowd.

While people shot forward to get a glimpse of the well -known celebrity, several women and children were trampled in the midst of intense congestion and rising heat.

Witnesses told the MPs that Vijay threw water bottles in the crowd in an attempt to help, but as people bore to pick them up, many were crushed, the findings claimed.

The team of MPs, who visited Hospitals in Karur, found 51 people who are still being treated, including several in critical condition.

One of the most heartbreaking things quoted the report a father who lost his two daughters, aged 12 and 8, in the Melee. It also mentions that some victims have fallen close to the location and were later found dead.

The fact team also discovered that the power supply failed moments after the chaos started, and the backup generator did not start, so that the location was put in the dark and the panic deteriorated.

The team noted that the district magistrate approved the event location despite the limited capacity and “not to ensure the basic control and safety measures”.

“The Karur tragedy was a disaster to be prevented caused by administrative negligence,” says the report and demands strict action against officials responsible for approving and managing the event.

The MPs also claimed that the district magistrate was told to meet them during their visit, so that further questions about transparency were raised.

The report adds that Vijay left the site immediately after the incidentWhile rescue operations were handled by local police and volunteers. The Madras High Court also noticed that party chef Vijay fled “from the scene of appearance” and that the party had not even regretted it.

The report also claimed that the NDA team had sent a questionnaire for government officials who sought detailed statements about the permission process, the regulations of the public control and the absence of emergency assistance systems.

Their findings come in the midst of increasing criticism of the Tamil Nadu government.

The Madras High Court has already censored the police for “inactivity” And the state instructed standard operational procedures for public rallies on motorways to prevent such tragedies in the future.
