Our Premier League Awards celebrate the best – and worst – of the midweek action, starring Harvey Barnes and Antoine Semenyo.
Moment of the week
What a moment, what a game!
Harvey Barnes wrote itself into the record books this week the latest ever winning goal in the Premier League. Barnes’ brilliant turn and finish saw Newcastle complete a thrilling 4-3 comeback win against Leeds United at St James’ Park in one of the games of the season – if not the Premier League era.
The 28-year-old’s final goal was timed at 101 minutes and 48 seconds, after a lengthy period of extra time.

Limbs, everywhere.
Player of the week
Last summer, several stars threw their toys out of the stroller to force transfers. Alexander Isak and Yoane Wissa both successfully found their way to new clubs, unlike Antoine Semenyo behavior in recent weeks.
Every man and his dog knows that Semenyo will leave Bournemouth in January as his good form and considerable admirers make a move inevitable. The 26-year-old completed his £62.5million move to Manchester City on Fridaybut not before a perfect farewell on the south coast.
A fantastic football player, but an even better person ❤️ pic.twitter.com/LjNaHWUTwJ

Semenyo scored a stoppage-time winner for Bournemouth against Spurs and opted to represent the Cherries despite the risk of injury that could thwart his move to City. Bournemouth will not forget his contribution and behaviour.
Goal of the week
Joao Palhinha doesn’t score many goals, but when he does they are often memorable.
The Portuguese midfielder produced this outrageous bicycle kick out of nowhere during Tottenham’s match with Bournemouth this week.

Rescue of the week
Bournemouth’s victory over Tottenham was packed with unmissable action, including our Save of the Week winner.
Djordje Petrovic had to be at full strength to tap away Micky van de Ven’s header.
A spectacular rescue 🧤 pic.twitter.com/YPbzi5WquR

Statistic of the week
Sanctions usually favor the shooter, but that was not the case in that case Kevin Kelleher was on target. The Irishman has incredibly saved four of the six penalties he has conceded as a goalkeeper in the Premier League after calling Enzo Le Fee’s Panenka bluff in midweek.
Excluding shootouts, he has now saved eight penalties in his career, including stops on international duty for Kylian Mbappe and Cristiano Ronaldo.
67% – Caoimhín Kelleher has saved four of the six penalties he has conceded in the Premier League, a ratio of 67% – the best save percentage of any goalkeeper who has conceded more than five penalties in the competition. Specialist. pic.twitter.com/USPCOgUCAJ

Quote of the week
There is no love lost between Roy Keane and former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
More than two decades after his explosive departure from Old Trafford, Keane has not softened his attitude towards the Scot. He has rarely been afraid to take aim at Ferguson, including this classic Keane joke criticizing Ferguson’s continued influence at the then club.
‘You still have that [Sir Alex] Ferguson and David Gill are hanging around like stink. Who makes the decisions at Man Utd? [Sir Jim] Ratcliffe, Wilcox. You [to Gary Neville] interviewed managers.”
A week to forget…
Malick Thiaw. The German centre-back has hardly put a foot wrong since signing for Newcastle last summer and emerged as one of the signings of the season. It seems Thiaw has saved all his mistakes for one game after a forgettable night against Leeds.
The defender was robbed of possession in Leeds’ opener, was shown a yellow card for a rash tackle and conceded a penalty with a bizarre handball. He was hooked during halftime after a nightmare night.
An achievement that is perhaps best summarized below. When you know, you know.
