CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – At Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park, an extensive harness racing program is available on Saturday afternoon, with the Preferred 1 Pace leading the way and three divisions of the Joe & Steven MacRae Memorial Fall Series laying the foundation for an action-packed card.

Post time is 12:30 PM for the 16-bar offering.

The Preferred 1 Pace in Race 15 brings together a familiar, hard-hitting cast with a $5,500 purse.

House Edge Hanover has emerged as a late-flying force this fall, and with Gilles Barrieau and Post 1, will once again command early respect from the Ron Matheson barn for owner Everette Hanson of Maugerville, NB

Bee Two Bee has been a model of reliability all season and now gets post 3 with Jason Hughes on the race bike for trainer Ashley Gamester as favorite in the morning line.

Brookdale Johnny (Corey MacPherson) was a winner in his last two starts for trainer Phil Sizer, while Phil My Beer (Marc Campbell) and Malignity (Paul Langille) completed a Preferred that should be tightly contested from wire to wire.

The Backstretch Beat leans towards Bee Two Bee in the tilt angle.
“After a sub-par performance two starts ago, Bee Two Bee bounced back with a big win last week. He has another inside post today, so Hughes could point him forward again. He’s the class of this field, so I’d bet they go back-to-back.”

The Joe & Steven MacRae Memorial Fall Series will appear in Races 2, 6 and 9.

Century Invictus (Norris Rogers), Buddysnvirgins (Barrieau) and Windsong Quincy (Marc Campbell) form the core of the opening division at $3,000 in Race 2.

The other two splits have a purse of $3,500, with race 6 seeing Five Star Dragon (Merner) as favorite from post 6 against six rivals including Doc Darryl (Colin Sheppard) and Rosiesmightymoe (Barrieau).

In the other $3,500 division in Race 9, Heres To Art (Ken Murphy) is the top selection against Phil Dorleans (Merner) and Spack Jarrow (Jason Hughes).

Race 7 features a PEISHOA event with trainer Chris MacKay’s favorite Chromed Up (MacPherson).
