Predict our penguins (?)

It was Tom Hanks In his characteristic role as Forrest Gump That famous pronounced: “Life is like a box of chocolates … you never know what you’re going to get.”

And so it is with our Pittsburgh Penguins, Vintage 2025-26.

To be honest, I have no idea how we will perform this season. I thought we were secretly for a while, maybe even make a claim to a wildcard place thanks to our forward depth.

But now the seasonal opening schedule has been determined? I don’t feel so confident. I notice that I even notice trending to the dark side when it comes to our place in the rankings.

My biggest concern?

Gambling

I just don’t trust that Tristan Jarry Has what is needed to be done between the pipes. The little that I saw from him in the preseason reinforces the idea that he looks slow and old after his 29 years. Whatever the underlying physical ailment he has (rumor like his hips) seems to have kept a toll.

My biggest fear? We are going to experience a repeat of last season, when Jarry asked the team and took the team. I don’t know if Arthur SilovBased on the Back -Uprol of our beloved “Ned”, Alex Nedeljkovicwill be sufficient to compensate, let alone that the starter will be taken over if the circumstances or performance dictates.

Indeed, by time Joel Blomqvist is ready to come from ir, or Kyle Dub Says, “to do it” and evokes Wunderkind Sergei Murashov The baby pins can be too late to save the season.

Defense

Only a little less alarming for me is the condition of our defense. I cheered Kyle Dub Because they are willing to refrain Ryan Graves And tell him to the baby pins. Although I really feel for Ryan, things just didn’t get better for the big guy and something had to be done.

However, that little positive news is tempered by the fact that Owen Pickering Did not know to be able to secure a place on the problematic left side of our defense, where (and still) was a striking emptiness and need (and still is. I realize that he is young (only 21), only recently stopped growing in a Rangy 6’5 ″ frame and still developed what was not ready for players or team that he was.

For the time being it appears Caleb JonesA 4A-Weneer who has spent a good part of the past two seasons in the AHL (and print boxes) is forced to take place in Pickering’s Rotation. Maybe as a partner for the 19-year-old phenomenon Harrison Brunicke.

That is a concern, especially because Brunicke, promising as he is, is not as solid in his own zone.

On a more cheerful note, Erik Karlsson Shows flashes of his former Norris Trophy Self. Parker Wother Spoon Perhaps not a future star, but he has produced solid statistics and seems to get hold of his role, which in fact covers the hilly of his partner. I am reminded that during his 101-point season in ’22 -23 EK65 was accompanied by people like no frills. Mario Ferraro And Jaycob Megna.

I confess that I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw Ryan Shea In the preseason. Maybe I just caught his good moments, but he looked faster, more confident and more assertive. If those improvements last, he can very well serve as an effective partner and stabilizer for aging Kris Letang.

I don’t mind veterans Connor Clifton And Matt Duma As depth options. Perhaps one or the other will apply the lock of Jones and add some much needed physicality to the mix.

Ahead

In the first instance, the forward group seems to be talented and deep. Based on their glowing presidential performances, Sidney Crosby And Rickard Rakell seem ready to repeat their strong campaigns ’24 -25. Rookie Ville KoiVunen Trust, balance and skill radiates. Search for Bryan Rest And Rutger McGroarty To offer a (large) boost when they get off.

With double buzz-saws Connor Dewar And Blake Lizotte As anchors I serve the appearance of our fourth rule.

The Middle Seat?

Here I am starting to worry again.

While Anthony scared And Justin Brazeau Were intriguing (not to mention physically impressive) additives, I fear that they can add to the rotating door of line sizes that have not succeeded Evgeni MalkinEspecially when Mantha is slow to bounce back from ACL surgery. Placing a damper on what Geno’s last black-gold go ’round could be.

I really have no idea what I can expect from the 18-year-old Ben Kindelor are projected wing players Tommy Novak And Philip Tomasinowho have endured their part of UPS-and-downs during their relatively short career.

I like that Tomasino seemed to wade in traffic during the preseason. In my eye he is shifty and dangerously low, perhaps a nice fit for Kindel. I cannot say the same for Novak, competent and a favorite of the analysis cult, but the definition of a perimeter player.

Hopefully it won’t be too long before the late cuts become Tristan Broz And Avery Hayes Return from Wilkes-Barre/SCRANTON.

Coaching

Strangely enough, one area I don’t exaggerated about coaching is. Just a premonition, but I think Rookie -Schipper And Muse And his staff will do fine. I just don’t know if the team he leads is built to succeed, at least as built at the moment.
