Prasarana has announced that phases two and three of the signaling system work for the LRT Kelana Jaya Line will be postponed until 6 September 2025 from the previously planned start date of 9 August 2025.
In a release, the company said it was to make extra testing of phase one possible to ensure that the system is fully functional and efficient before implementation. “These extra tests are crucial to evaluate the performance of the system in a real-world operational environment and to minimize the risk of future operational disruptions,” said it.
Phase one of the upgrade work has no influence on train operations, but this will not be the case for phases two and three. During these phases, test sessions are expanded until the morning on selected data, whereby some stations only open for passengers from 9 a.m. instead of the usual 6 hours.

Based on the list in the release (posted above), 10 stations are affected between 6 September and 12 October in phase two. With regard to phase three that starts in November, 17 stations are mentioned.
To minimize the inconvenience for commuters, Prasarana introduces free replacement buses and intermediate vans during the upgrade work period. Staff and signage will also be prepared to ensure that commuters are led to where they have to go. Stations that are not part of the upgrade will work as usual.
