The Ministry of Health of Gaza has announced a polio vaccination campaign for 600,000 Palestinian children, as a result of the constant humanitarian blockade of Israel of the war destroyed by war.
The restrictions on all the help that comes in the territory have now reached 50 days, and the head of the Palestinian auxiliary agency of the United Nations, UNRWA, said it was time for the international community to move from words from conviction to action to use the stocks.
Polio is a disease that is largely wiped out all over the world, but it has appeared in Gaza as a result of the 18-month war and the destruction of water and sanitary facilities.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Health of Gaza said that it expected a “real catastrophe” if the vaccines did not arrive, adding that children “should not be used as maps of political blackmail.”

In a message on social media, UNRWA chef Philippe Lazzarini said that the blockade amounted to “collective punishment” of the Palestinian people – a sentence with specific meaning in discussing accusations of war crimes.
“Humanitarian aid is used as a negotiating ship and a war weapon,” he posted on social media.
“The siege must be lifted, the supplies must flow in, the hostages must be released, the ceases -the fire must be resumed.
“How many longer to hollow words of conviction will translate into action to eliminate the siege, a cessation -to resume -and save what is left of humanity?”
Worries about help passed on to Hamas
The Israeli Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, rejected accusations from the US Senator Bernie Sanders that the blockade amounted to a “war crime”.
“Israel acts fully in accordance with international law,” he placed on social media platform X.
“The humanitarian situation in Gaza is constantly checked and large quantities of help were provided.
“If it is necessary to allow extra help, it must be ensured that it is not through Hamas, which operates humanitarian aid to maintain control of the civilian population and to take advantage of their costs.”
Mr. Katz has previously suggested that Israel was working on ways to allow Gaza help that Hamas bypassed, but did not give any details about what that could look like.
Humanitarian authorities have been complaining for weeks an alarm about the impact of the blockade, which was required to do medical supplies and foods in Gaza and urgent deliveries were required.

Among the goals were around 40 trucks, bulldozers and other earth -moving equipment at locations in Gaza.
Local authorities said the vehicles were used to help debris from the destroyed building and to get the bodies of Palestinians killed in Israeli strikes.
“For a year there are people who are still not being picked up under the rubble,” Nasser Mohammed Nasser from Jabalia told the Reuters news agency.
“These bulldozers came from God to help us remove the rubble. Today they destroyed the bulldozers.
“What do they want from us? Where do they want to bring us? “
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that Hamas used the vehicles by justifying its strikes.
In a statement it said that some vehicles had been used by the group to help his hunters cross Israel on October 7, 2023 and launch his fatal attacks on Israel.
“The technical vehicles were also used for terrorist purposes against IDF troops during the fighting in the Gaza Strip,” said the IDF.
“Hamas used these vehicles for planting explosives, digging underground routes, the reduction of fences and cleaning up debris to find weapons and military equipment hidden by the terrorist organization under the rubble.”
About 1200 people were killed during the attacks of Hamas and 250 hostage by the group.
In the 18 months thereafter, more than 51,000 Palestinians in Gaza were killed.
