Police arrest man about Melbourne Synagogue Firebombing; Say overseas links are being investigated

The police say that overseas and local criminals are suspected of working together last year in the fire bombs of a synagogue in Melbourne.
They arrested one of the three men they claim to have carried out the arson attack.
A 21-year-old Warberbee-Man was arrested in western Melbourne during one of the multiple searches that were performed around the city on Wednesday. The man still has to be charged.

She said that the complex research included investigating the involvement of offshore criminals, who are suspected of working with employees in Victoria.

“The motivation is still being assessed and we will make further comments about this,” said Barrett.
A AFP officer who is involved in the arrest of the 21-year-old is in the hospital after being bitten by an unbridled dog, who has since been euthanized.
Members of the Five Eyes Intelligence Alliance, as well as other international partners, have been involved in the research.

Victoria Police Deputy Commissioner Wendy Steendam said there was no evidence to suggest a connection between the Adass Israel Synagogue Fire and a long-term criminal war on illegal tobacco in Melbourne or a separate fire in a synagogue in Eastern Melbourne.

“I want to reassure Victorians, especially those in the Jewish community, that we remain ruthless in our pursuit of finding anyone responsible for this crime and to account for them,” she said.
The police carried out seven search conceptions in Melbourne on Wednesday and seized various items, including electronic devices that will be investigated forensic.
In July, a 20-year-old man was arrested and accused of his alleged role in stealing a car connected to the Ripponlea Synagogue Fire.
There was increasing pressure for the police to make further arrests, with CCTV images released by the Terror Police that three people in hoodies from a car before the police claim that they have damaged the entrance to the synagogue.
Researchers have insisted on everyone with more information about the car to come forward immediately.
Daniel Aghion, president of the Executive Council of Australian Judaism, thanked the police for their efforts and hoped that further arrests would be made.
“Only then will a deterrent be determined against this kind of horrifying behavior.”
